There were joyful scenes at Teddington School and Hampton High this week as sixth formers celebrated their A-Level results.

Overall, 42% of the sixth form's entries were awarded A* or A, just below the UK average of 44.8% as grades across the country saw a record high.

The school, which looks after both Teddington and Hampton High sixth-forms, celebrated achieving an A-Level Progression Score of 2, putting it in the top 10% of schools across the UK for student progress for the second year in a row.

In addition, 28% of the sixth form's students achieved places at Russell Group universities.

Special mention went to the school's 14 students who achieved at least 3 A or A* grades: Poppy Agarwal, Joseph Bryant, Oliver Dawson, Abigail Fisher, Molly Harris, Annalee James, Harvey Jeffrey, Joseph Jeffrey, Joseph Kirk, Elliot Mitchell, Jacob Muncey, Tom Park, Lucas Pflicke and Nicole Watkins.

Overall, 84% of the school's entries were graded A*-C. See the university destinations HERE

Headteacher Kathy Pacey said: "I am so pleased that the students in our care are able to secure the placements they wanted as a result of their achievements.

"It is fantastic that 14 of our students achieved the highest grades possible. Teddington Sixth Form is a place where students are well looked after, both emotionally and academically.

"This has been particularly evident over the past 18 months.

"Every student needs to be proud of the work they have achieved that contributed to these fantastic results.

"Parents, staff and most importantly the students must be incredibly proud of their achievements, and everyone in the Teddington community wishes all our students the very best of luck in their next steps."

Head of Sixth Form Kirk Campbell said: "The whole sixth form team extends a huge congratulations to all of our students as they embark on the next exciting stage of their lives.

"Students should be very proud of what they have achieved under such difficult and unique circumstances.

"To all of our 2021 leavers, it has been a joy to be part of your A Level journey and we hope that your celebrations today are fun and long-lasting."
