Head-of-Academic-Marlborough-College-Dan-Clark

Marlborough offers pupils an unrivalled education. From Form in the Shell, through to the exceptional range of subjects on offer at GCSE and A level, every Marlburian can find a channel for their interests and skills.

We achieve this through a hugely talented and committed Common Room, each of whom has a clear understanding of pupil strengths and the skill and experience to maximise the potential of every pupil.

Pupils are inspired by a diverse programme of academic enrichment, including visiting speakers, events and trips.

Our commitment to furthering Marlborough’s strong tradition of innovation has physical form in the Innovation Centre, part of a groundbreaking partnership with Beko, and in Marlborough becoming one of the UK’s first schools to offer an MBA for young people.

Results

Marlburians achieve consistently excellent public examination results and top flight university places. The academic development of our pupils is married with outstanding support and advice on future choices from the Guidance Department.

Departments

Our vibrant academic departments are at the heart of the College’s intellectual life. We offer an exceptional range of academic subjects, delivered by inspirational teachers. Our focus is on ensuring that a passion for teaching and learning permeates every department, both through the curriculum and in our subject enrichment activities.

Curriculum

The College is academically ambitious, offering a progressive, challenging and enriching curriculum broadly based on the National Curriculum. It is designed to support pupils to excel in their exams and to instil a lifelong love of learning, and it is supported by our bespoke study skills programme, the Marlborough Mindset.

Futures

The Futures department (Higher Education and Careers) works with all pupils providing a comprehensive programme of careers education which includes career advising, higher education application support and preparation (UK and global).

Enrichment and Leadership

Our aim is to inspire every pupil to explore the full breadth and depth of academic experience on offer and to take part in intellectual activities beyond their mainstream subjects. There is a dedicated programme for our academic scholars and a rich array of societies, talks, interest groups and publications for all, many led by pupils.
