Biography

Philip Twysden was born circa 1714 to William Twysden and Jane Twisden. He was Bishop of Raphoe in the Church of Ireland. He was married twice: firstly to Mary Purcell and secondly to Frances Carter. He died in 1752, allegedly while attempting to rob a stagecoach. His second daughter Frances was born after his death.
