Mary and I taught together at Pierce Elementary from 1974-1980. We became good friends. After I transferred to another school and even after she. retired, we met every few weeks to share a glass or two of wine and catch up on each other’s lives. She remains one of the most special friends I was lucky enough to have in my life.
