Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again

Rate this book
Look at the state of the world right now. It’s a terrible mess, and that’s putting it mildly. There has never been a more dangerous time. The politicians and special interests in Washington, DC, are directly responsible for the mess we are in. So why should we continue listening to them?

It’s time to bring America back to its rightful owners—the American people.

I’m not going to play the same game politicians have been playing for decades—all talk, no action, while special interests and lobbyists dictate our laws. I am shaking up the establishment on both sides of the political aisle because I can’t be bought. I want to bring America back, to make it great and prosperous again, and to be sure we are respected by our allies and feared by our adversaries.

It’s time for action. Americans are fed up with politics as usual. And they should be! In this book, I outline my vision to make America great again, including: how to fix our failing economy; how to reform health care so it is more efficient, cost-effective, and doesn’t alienate both doctors and patients; how to rebuild our military and start winning wars—instead of watching our enemies take over—while keeping our promises to our great veterans; how to ensure that our education system offers the resources that allow our students to compete internationally, so tomorrow’s jobseekers have the tools they need to succeed; and how to immediately bring jobs back to America by closing our doors to illegal immigrants, and pressuring businesses to produce their goods at home.

This book is my blueprint for how to Make America Great Again. It’s not hard. We just need someone with the courage to say what needs to be said.

Donald John Trump is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.
Trump received a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, and his father named him president of his real estate business in 1971. Trump renamed it the Trump Organization and reoriented the company toward building and renovating skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. After a series of business failures in the late twentieth century, he successfully launched side ventures that required little capital, mostly by licensing the Trump name. From 2004 to 2015, he co-produced and hosted the reality television series The Apprentice. He and his businesses have been plaintiff or defendant in more than 4,000 state and federal legal actions, including six business bankruptcies.
Trump won the 2016 presidential election as the Republican Party nominee against Democratic Party nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton while losing the popular vote. During the campaign, his political positions were described as populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist. His election and policies sparked numerous protests. He was the first U.S. president with no prior military or government experience. A special counsel investigation established that Russia had interfered in the 2016 election to favor Trump's campaign. Trump promoted conspiracy theories and made many false and misleading statements during his campaigns and presidency, to a degree unprecedented in American politics. Many of his comments and actions have been characterized as racially charged or racist and many as misogynistic.
As president, Trump ordered a travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries, diverted military funding toward building a wall on the U.S.–Mexico border, and implemented a policy of family separations for migrants detained at the U.S. border. He weakened environmental protections, rolling back more than 100 environmental policies and regulations. He signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which cut taxes for individuals and businesses and rescinded the individual health insurance mandate penalty of the Affordable Care Act. He appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court. He reacted slowly to the COVID-19 pandemic, ignored or contradicted many recommendations from health officials, used political pressure to interfere with testing efforts, and spread misinformation about unproven treatments. Trump initiated a trade war with China and withdrew the U.S. from the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the Iran nuclear deal. He met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un three times but made no progress on denuclearization.
Trump refused to concede after losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, falsely claiming widespread electoral fraud, and attempted to overturn the results by pressuring government officials, mounting scores of unsuccessful legal challenges, and obstructing the presidential transition. On January 6, 2021, he urged his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, which many of them then attacked, resulting in multiple deaths and interrupting the electoral vote count.
Trump is the only American president to have been impeached twice. After he tried to pressure Ukraine in 2019 to investigate Biden, he was impeached by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020. The House impeached him again in January 2021 for incitement of insurrection. The Senate acquitted him in February. Scholars and historians rank Trump as one of the worst presidents in American history.
Since leaving office, Trump has continued to dominate the Republican Party and is a candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential primarie

Can I get some sort of award for actually finishing this book? I put this on my "made me cry" shelf because when I read it I almost cried because of the fact that so many people actually support this guy. ...

Post-2020 Election Update 11/10/20: I am, like a little more than half the country, finally breathing a sigh of relief with the announcement that Joe Biden is our new president. Four years of Trump has felt a little like being trapped in an alternate dimension in which all the patients of every insane asylum in the world took over the government. I know, that's my inner Black Lives Matter/pro-choice/pro-science/anti-white supremacist/Socialist talking, but I don't care anymore. I'm hoping (it's a dim hope, but it's there) that Trump's stupid fringe beliefs will go back to being on the fringe again, but the cat's out of the bag now, I think, so all we can do now is pray that saner, smarter minds will prevail in the next four years or more. I wrote this review way back in March 2016. It seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?

It's been a week into the new Trump administration, and he has proven himself to be far more than just an Asshole. He is something far more dangerous. I sincerely worry (and I doubt that I'm alone in thinking this) that the man is not actually sane, that there is something mentally wrong with him. Intellectually, I don't think the guy is actually stupid (all evidence---including a limited vocabulary and the use of his own made-up word "bigly" ad nauseum---to the contrary), but he is clearly sick. Generally, I feel sympathy towards the mentally ill, but it freaks me out that, as far as I know, there is no real precedent for a situation like this. What do we do---what can we do---when our president is several cards short of a full deck, toys in the attic, loony toons bonkers? This review was meant to be funny; at least, that's what I was aiming for, although re-reading it now, i realize how much can change in such a short time. It's no longer funny. We are living under a fledgling totalitarian dictator. I won't say he's evil---that word gets overused and I'll leave it to future historians to make that call---but his ridiculous number of executive actions, statements, tweets, and behavior are all indicative of an Asshole bordering on the Sociopathic. May God have mercy on all of us…

Donald J. Trump is an Asshole. To clarify, the term “Asshole” refers to the orifice on the human body responsible for defecation, which is the expulsion of shit. “Shit” is the toxic waste-product of the human digestive system, the useless remainders of food which has been broken down and separated into its basic components. “Shit” is those parts which the body deems unnecessary or unhealthy. It is generally considered, in many cultures, uncivilized or uncouth to expose one’s Asshole. It is still considered somewhat taboo to talk about the Asshole in good company, unless one is speaking to a proctologist.

Trump, in biological terms, is the Asshole of America. He is generally considered an embarrassment by many Americans as he, on a regular basis, verbally defecates wherever he goes. The shit that he expels is generally considered to be some of the most toxic and unhealthy shit being expelled. Many feel that this is the reason Trump’s (henceforth referred to simply as the Asshole) very existence should be declared a national health crisis.

The Asshole recently wrote a book called “Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again”, which is basically 193 pages of the most vile diarrhea ever unleashed upon the general public. One should absolutely wash hands thoroughly after any reading.

As a public service, I have read and reviewed the Asshole’s book so that you don’t have to. The following is a few quotes from the Asshole himself. Keep in mind as one reads the following quotes that the Asshole is writing at a fourth-grade level. This is actually pretty evolutionarily advanced for Assholes. Also keep in mind that the Asshole may sound like he knows what he is talking about, but he is actually full of shit. Quite literally. I have, along with the quote, attempted to dissect and deconstruct the shit in order to find any nuggets of useful or intelligent parts.

On immigration : “I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build it very inexpensively. I will build a great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

Note how the Asshole does not explain HOW he will build a wall between Mexico and the United States inexpensively. Also note that the Asshole does not explain HOW he will get Mexico to pay for it. Note the Asshole’s repetition of the word “build”, as if he is desperately trying to convince the reader that he is a productive member of society and that he has actually, personally, done anything constructive in his life other than delegate to other people all the actual hard work and simply take credit for it all, which is what Assholes do.

On global climate change : “If you go back in history, you’ll find that the biggest tornadoes we’ve had in this country took place in the 1890s, and the most hurricanes occurred in the 1860s and ‘70s. Violent climate “changes” are nothing new. We have even had ice ages. I just don’t happen to believe they are man-made.”

Note the rather brazen way that the Asshole simply says “I just don’t happen to believe [climate changes] are man-made” and essentially sloughs off all credible scientific evidence that says, undeniably, global climate change has been proven---and continues to be proven---to be caused by humanity’s deleterious effects on the world’s ecosystems. The Asshole can, and does, make such unsupportable statements because Assholes don’t like facts, data, or statistics that contradict or in any way threaten their own way of life. In this case, the Asshole’s way of life is Making Money At The Expense Of A Sustainable Future. This is actually a very common reaction among Assholes, whose sole purpose is to shit on the world.

On gun control : “I worry when our social-policy makers, looking for a “cause”, pick on guns. The Supreme Court has made it clear that the government simply has no business and, in fact, no right to dictate to gun owners what types of firearms law-abiding Americans are allowed to own. Gun owners should be allowed to purchase the best type of weapon for their needs, whether it’s for self-protection, sport-shooting, or any other purpose.”

Here is a case in which the Asshole is simply defending the rights of two types of individuals. The first is the rights of guns themselves. Historically, guns have, until recently, been treated fairly. It has only been recently that guns have started to be treated as second-or even third-class citizens. It may seem odd that the Asshole is defending an inanimate object, but it is actually quite in keeping with the Asshole’s complete lack of logic or intelligence. The second type of individual that the Asshole seems to be defending is anyone that falls under the rather wide demographic of those who purchase weapons for “any other purpose” than self-protection or sport, which I can only assume includes anyone who enjoys shooting people in movie theaters, schools, and military bases.

I could go on and include many more excerpts of the Asshole’s book, but you should, by now, get the point: the book is shit. Were you really expecting anything more?

Okay, I don't want to go all conspiracy theory on you, but it's hard not to apply cui bono here. Under normal circumstances, you'd expect the Dems to be worried. They've had two terms in office, the US is still not doing so well economically, and Hillary is notoriously unpopular with a large chunk of the electorate. She ought to be having serious problems, and people on the left ought to be starting to shrug their shoulders and say, well, maybe some of those Republicans aren't that bad. Instead, the markets are giving odds of about two to one that Ms Clinton will be the next President.

Why? Um, because Donald Trump has rendered the GOP close to unelectable. I suppose he might have done it by accident, or out of stupidity. But if he'd set out to destroy the party, I don't see that he could have been more effective. He's alienated several key demographics - Hispanics, blacks, women - to such an extent that it's hard to see how any bridge-building exercise is going to work. I suppose a major terrorist attack may make people feel that, even if he's an asshole, he's the kind of asshole the US needs to keep it safe. But, more and more, he's coming across as a loose cannon who doesn't mean anything he says, who changes his story whenever it suits him and then insists that his views have "evolved", who just can't be taken seriously.

Consider for a moment that Trump used to be a Democrat. He used to be pro-choice. He invited the Clintons to his last wedding. And in a book or a movie, you'd know by now that he'd done it on purpose, to trick the far right wing of the Republican Party into coming out in the open and permanently discrediting themselves. It would be the twist that wrapped up the whole narrative. This is how, operating under deep cover, brave Agent Trump infiltrated the bunch of vampires that were sucking the US's life-blood, and put a stake through their collective hearts so that America could be Great Again.

Of course, I don't really believe it. But I just read this article in the National Review - not exactly your typical lying, liberal publication - and when you see their quotes you have to wonder. Here's someone so insanely irresponsible that even Ann Coulter is publicly upset about it. And that ending. I just have to quote it in full:
... barring some miraculous comeback by Ted Cruz, the Trump campaign will have cost the Republican Party the presidency after eight years of Obama, and perhaps the Senate and even the House - and Scalia's replacement on the Court as well. Years of effort spent attempting to dispel the accusations of inherent Republican misogyny, xenophobia, hypocrisy, ignorance and blind rage have been undone by Trump's campaign. And every Trump advocate in front of a camera had a hand in this.

We're not just gonna hug it out.

Since writing this review a bit more than three weeks ago, I've been regularly checking the odds posted on Betfair for the different Presidential candidates. A pattern has emerged: an improvement in Trump's chances is associated with an improvement in Hillary's chances. After Trump's unsuccessful Wisconsin primary, Hillary was running at around 2-1 on (67% chance of success). Trump has done well since then, and Hillary's improved to around 3-1 on (75%).

Like I said, I'm not hypothesizing a conspiracy. But if I were Hillary, I wouldn't necessarily be unhappy that Trump right now looks like he has a decent shot at getting over half of the Republican delegates ahead of the July convention and locking up the nomination.

I just have to share the striking graphic I saw earlier this evening on fivethirtyeight.com. Hillary's one lucky woman.

ClintonTrump______________________

From another recent article in The National Review:
Donald Trump is unfit for the office.

He is unfit for any office, morally and intellectually.

A man who could suggest, simply because it is convenient, that his opponent’s father had something to do with the assassination of President Kennedy is unfit for any position of public responsibility.

His long litany of lies — which include fabrications about everything from his wealth to self-funding his campaign — is disqualifying.

His low character is disqualifying.

His personal history is disqualifying.

His complete, utter, total, and lifelong lack of honor is disqualifying.

The fact that he is going to have to take time out of the convention to appear in court to hear a pretty convincing fraud case against him is disqualifying.

His time on Jeffrey Epstein’s Pedophile Island, after which he boasted about sharing a taste with Epstein for women “on the younger side,” is disqualifying.

The fact that he knows less about our constitutional order than does a not-especially-bright Rappahannock River oyster is disqualifying.

There isn’t anything one can say about Mrs. Clinton, monster though she is, that changes any of that.

Donald Trump is not fit to serve as president. He is not fit to serve on the Meade County board of commissioners. He is not fit to be the mayor of Muleshoe, Texas.

If he indeed is the Republican nominee, Donald Trump almost certainly will face Hillary Rodham Clinton in the general election. That fact, sobering though it is, does not suddenly make him fit to serve as president, because — to repeat — the problem with Trump isn’t that he is less fit to serve in comparison to Mrs. Clinton, but that he is unfit to serve, period.
Though of course, that's what the conservatives are saying. The liberals aren't going to be as positive.
______________________

The National Review list somehow forgot to include Trump's tax returns, but Mitt Romney has just made good that omission:
It is disqualifying for a modern-day presidential nominee to refuse to release tax returns to the voters, especially one who has not been subject to public scrutiny in either military or public service. Tax returns provide the public with its sole confirmation of the veracity of a candidate's representations regarding charities, priorities, wealth, tax conformance, and conflicts of interest. Further, while not a likely circumstance, the potential for hidden inappropriate associations with foreign entities, criminal organizations, or other unsavory groups is simply too great a risk to ignore for someone who is seeking to become commander-in-chief.

Mr. Trump says he is being audited. So? There is nothing that prevents releasing tax returns that are being audited. Further, he could release returns for the years immediately prior to the years under audit. There is only one logical explanation for Mr. Trump's refusal to release his returns: there is a bombshell in them. Given Mr. Trump's equanimity with other flaws in his history, we can only assume it's a bombshell of unusual size.
I must say I'm disappointed. Just because Trump suggested on live TV that Romney would have been happy to give him a blow-job in exchange for his support in the last presidential election, he gets all huffy and starts saying things like the above. Evidently not a team player. Or does he know something we don't?
______________________

It's been a rough few weeks for Agent Trump. He's been trying his damnedest to sink the Republican ship - but whatever he did, somehow it went wrong. He flung racial insults at a judge of unimpeachable character, flirted with the KKK, cozied up to the autocratic leader of an unfriendly foreign state and encouraged a senior Republican to give a speech against him at the RNC. He decided not to hire any campaign staff or buy any TV spots. Things were so desperate that Melania joined in. Great love hath no trophy wife than she plagiarize her rival's lines to help her husband... but even that didn't have any effect. Despite all his efforts to paint himself, in the most garish colors imaginable, as Lyin' Crooked Donald, a character that only a drunk, sleep-deprived halfwit would trust with the nuclear codes, his ratings held steady. They even improved a bit.

As he likes to say, never give up, and after literally dozens of imaginative attempts he seems to have found an idea that works. I'm sure he didn't enjoy gratuitously disrespecting the sick, elderly mother of an American war hero, but desperate times require desperate measures. Finally... FINALLY!... his poll figures seem to heading in the direction he needs. Obviously they don't want to jinx it at this stage, and I bet the entire Trump family are anxiously checking fivethirtyeight's NowCast every ten minutes to see if it's screwed up again. But there's no doubt about it, things are starting to look good at last. Another month of this and they'll be cracking open the champagne at Trump Tower.

Bravo, Agent Trump! You have the hardest job in the world. And you're doing splendidly.

I read this book in one day and could not put it down. I already support Trump for president, but this book put all of the reasons why into clear focus. Anyone whose opinion of Trump is based solely on what is reported in the mainstream media needs to read this book. Hear from the horse's mouth what Donald Trump stands for and what he can do to get this country headed in the right direction. This book addresses where he stands on all of the issues, it is written very clearly, and I did not get bored at all. It actually got me even more excited about the future of our country. I loved it, and I am sure the sales will be HUUUUGE!! :)

WOW! Just Wow! What an incredible book! This is a must read and should be required reading in all colleges! I'm a 32 year old male ,Hispanic Democrat, who was leaning toward voting for Trump because I already knew about his great success. It's a fact: Anything Trump touches turns to gold! Imagine if he could do the same for America! After reading this book I'm 100% convinced Mr.Trump is what this country desperately needs. We cant have anymore dynasties with the Bush and Clinton Families. We need great change and we need it from an American who answers to no one except the American people! No more corrupt career politicians bought and paid for by Lobbyist, special interest groups and Super Pacs! I'm officially going to switch and register as a Republican and I will do my duty as an American citizen and vote for Mr.Trump. I want America to be Great Again and you will too after you finish reading this book. Enjoy.

I believe all politicians are liars and more concerned about their own careers than they are about their supporters, so I find reading these types of books a waste of time. I also generally lean to the left politically, although my views on certain issues may be considered centrist, or even right.

So I walked out of the library quietly, not making any eye contact with anyone, with this book surreptitiously tucked away in my jacket. When I got to my car, I tucked it under a plastic grocery bag, lest someone see it and vandalize my car.

While I’m mostly feeling the Bern, there are some things I actually like about Trump.

- He’s a successful businessman. Even though he has no political experience, he knows about running companies, managing people, and focusing on the big picture. He is also influential enough that he can get people to help him in those areas where he lacks knowledge.

- OK, I agree he’s crass, arrogant, and narcissistic, but I like that he’s challenging the stifling political correctness that hinders intelligent debates and instills fear in those who have opinions counter to prevailing wisdom.

- He has enough money not to have to rely on special interest groups.

- I believe he sincerely loves America and wants the best for it.

So read this book, or not. Aside from pontificating on his greatness, he actually says things that make sense and I can stand behind.

Man, I can't believe this guy was president and might actually be one again.

After four years of Trump's presidency, I had envisioned exactly what this book would be. I mean, we all know what Trump is about. And truly, the rhetoric style was exactly like I thought it would be. You can literally hear Trump's voice as you read it, which is not very pleasant.

However, when it comes down to the content, I was a little surprised. There aren't many solid policy ideas here, admittedly. Trump spends more time talking about his great skills than any feasible plans. It's obnoxious to hear him repeat how great he is.

That said, the few policy ideas that are here are interesting. For example, Trump talks about placing taxes on the super rich. I didn't realize that's something Trump thought about doing. I'd gotten the impression Trump supports the super-rich people. He also mentions the need for healthcare access for everyone, even acknowledging that we must help those who are too poor to pay for healthcare. I feel like you could quote parts of this book, show it to Trump supporters and they'd all think it was written by a socialist.

Additionally, his comments about education on the state-level rather than a federal scheme were something I hadn't considered at all. In general, reading this made me wonder about how the US achieves that balance between the federal and state level. I mean, surely the education needs of New York are different than Utah's so perhaps it does make sense to give states more control? And yet, we want to make sure there's a consensus on some things (like imagine the south not learning properly about the civil war).

Political scientists often ask whether Trump's behavior is intentional and to what extent, if so. Is this a political strategy or is this really who he is? How much of his act is planned?

Reading this convinced me that much of what Trump does is an intentional act with a clear purpose. It's not that our politics have been abducted by an orange old man, it's that Trump has pinpointed a problem and is speaking to those who feel it. And I loathe to admit it, but that's how political strategy works. He's making this work for him. You find the people who feel ignored and speak to them. You have to use the words and behavior that they find appealing.

The professional word for this is a political cleavage but I am way too immature. Like yep, Trump found a political cleavage and now he's grabbing it. But hey, Trump writes he has a good track record with women so it's all good.

Unfortunately, this brings us to the end of all the good things I can write about this book.

Trump talks about the entire political system as if it is about winning. And yet, he never brings up that winning implies someone else is losing. And losers in politics get angry. Losers in politics get extreme. Good politics is about agreements and cooperation. It's a team sport and it's just depressing to consider that Trump's rhetoric about winning could actually yield results.

I wish I could invite Trump to our State, Morality and Market classes where we spent months talking about market failures in healthcare. The market works great until it doesn't and well, when the market doesn't work, it can't fix itself. Libertarians are so convinced that the government is flawed that they don't see that the market is also flawed.

For example, insulin is an inelastic good. People will buy insulin no matter what the price is. The sellers have a vested interest to raise the prices. Without government intervention, the prices can grow and sure, there's competition that might push them down but at the end of the day, the entire industry is interested that we perceive healthcare as something expensive. This can't be solved in the marketplace.

If there is one thing that I simply cannot get about the Republican party, it's the guns. I keep going back to my own bootcamp and how we spent a few days learning by heart how to handle guns. We were told dozens of horror stories to highlight the danger of guns. In the American rallies, I see people behaving so irresponsibly (oh my god, don't aim the gun unless you intend to shoot, don't put your hand on the trigger unless you intend to shoot, don't put the magazine in unless you're preparing to shoot).

And yet, Americans keep repeating this freedom clause, as if their guns could actually stop a corrupt government. It's surprising there aren't activists in the NRA fighting for the right to have a tank or nuclear weapons.

Take it from an Israeli, true freedom is giving back your gun because you know you don't need it anymore. True freedom is never needing guns because there are other ways to solve problems, because the situation of killing someone is not one that crosses your mind. A country where people need guns to feel safe is not a free country.

Honestly, I could go on but really, I think Trump's handling of covid says all we need to know. I've seen Israeli right wing people change their minds about Trump after they heard his comment about bleach so perhaps the same will happen in the us. No matter what, the next few weeks in the states are going to be fascinating.

What I'm Taking With Me
- I despise the fact that Israel is so aligned with Trump. It is remarkably short sighted of our government to amp up this relationship when Trump isn't going to be here forever. Letting Israel be a partisan issue is just such a mistake.
- Like yay, Republicans are antisemitic but love that we fight wars in the Middle East while Democrats are supportive of Jews but actively trying to hurt Israel's ability to defend itself. This is great, thanks Netanyahu.
- I felt such an urge to factcheck every single thing he says.
- If I had the time, I'd go read everything Trump actually achieved in his term and compare to this book but yeah, my reading on tech and economics awaits.
----------------------
Reading this book at the end of Trump's term is equally funny as it is sad. Review to come!

This book is a joke. It is foremost a narcissistic biography on how great Donald Trump is (all his major achievements are included as an appendix). That's the bulk of the book. The rest of the book is about how bad things have gotten. Then there is a couple of phrases where Trump injects his "politics", that is, Trump's ideas on how to counter the bad things. These ideas are offered without any analysis or rationale at all. The only reason for why the ideas should be implemented is that Donald Trump is a businessman and politicians are politicians. Being a businessman has endowed upon Trump a special ability to see complex system problems and find easy solutions to them. Solutions like "build a wall" and "make other western countries pay us for our military presence". That's right, Trump actually wants countries like Germany, Poland and Korea to pay protection money to Uncle Sam. Disaster does not as a word fully cover the consequences of having this man elected president.

Trump Makes the Sale to Skeptics

I read this in two days. It's fairly short, and language is conversational, in fact I could imagine Trump's voice as I read it. So it's an easy read. But it's not a lightweight book. In 170 pages Trump is able to make the case that America is in a deep mess and that he, alone among the presidential field, is the one person uniquely qualified to lead the country back to greatness.

This book, says Trump, is designed to give the reader a better understanding of him and his ideas for the future. Trump starts off disarmingly, by talking about how he picked a cover photo of himself that is "so angry and so mean looking." As a reader I relax and think, eh, I guess this book won't be too serious. Then he starts talking about all the reason to be angry about the state of the country. He talks about how America needs to start winning again, then he starts talking about why he is the guy that can make that happen. He knocks down objections to his candidacy, calling out media detractors like Megyn Kelly and Hugh Hewitt by name.

He talks about his policy directions, not plans, because "the last thing we need are more plans that evaporate after the elections." What he has are principles and practical ideas which, he says, his record of business success shows he knows how to to get done. He ties in his business accomplishments as he talks about those policy principles. I'll mention two areas. On immigration, he loves legal immigration, hates illegal immigration, and will work to end birthright citizenship which "even Harry Reid" admits is insane. He will build a wall with "a big beautiful door" that people can enter or leave legally and runs through different ways Mexico can pay for it.

On foreign policy, his principle is "Operate from strength." He would build up the military, but refrain from conflict engagement unless there is a direct threat to our interests. In the Middle East, he would bomb ISIS oil fields to cut off their fund source. "And then we'd hit them again and again until ISIS ceased to exist as a threat to anybody." He calls out China as an enemy that we need to stand up to and then sit down with to renegotiate into an equitable relationship. "There is no one-size-fits all foreign policy. ... Everything begins with a strong military. Everything."

Trump also cover Education, Energy, Health Care, Economy, Gun Rights, Infrastructure, and Taxes. He also talks about himself, his leadership experience, his values, his patriotism, and his family. In a rare moment of humility he admits that he was admits to working too much to be present as a husband, but he says that for his kids it is a different story and that he is always there for them. He praises his own father a lot throughout the book and I get the sense that fatherhood is a very important aspect of his life.

There is no soaring rhetoric in this book, neither is there any dry lecturing. Instead there are practical ideas and anecdotes from Trump's life. There are also color photographs of himself as child, with his parents, with his children, and of his landmark skyscrapers and properties. I guess the buildings are also his children, in a way. He's very proud of the properties he took from old and failing to renewed and successful. I get the feeling that he sees America as the biggest turnaround project opportunity of his career. By the time you finish reading the book you may very well agree.

I wasn't close enough to the US election to be able to understand exactly what happened and why: why did so few people vote, why did so many women apparently support Trump?

When you live outside the US and you look at the red and blue map of the states, you have to wonder how the Democrats could ever win any election. There's just so much red on that map.

Observed from afar, this election for many voters seems to have been a referendum on free trade and globalisation.

Free trade was a policy promoted by the World Bank, conservative economists and Republicans, only Obama seems to have presided over much of its implementation and its consequences.

One goal of free trade was to reduce poverty in the undeveloped third world. This would obviously benefit third world communities. However, if manufacture was shifted there, whatever was made there would be cheaper to first world purchasers, because the wage component of the price was so much lower than the US. If you bought a small car from Mexico rather than Michigan, then it would cost you less, and theoretically you would have more money left over to save or spend on other needs or wants. Think of all the possessions you regard as vital to your everyday life, and think of how many of them come ultimately from the third world.

The point is things cost less if they're not made in America.

If they're not made in America, the jobs leave America and go to where the wages are cheapest. So the cost of cheaper goods is lower domestic employment.

The problem for the American political system is that the people who have lost their jobs live and vote in America, whereas the people who have obtained work in the third world don't.

The pursuit of free trade has therefore been at the expense of domestic political support.

Hillary Clinton had economic policies that were designed to address the unemployment problem. However, I doubt whether they were framed in such terms that anybody had confidence that they were targeted at them or that they would work.

In Marxist terms, her agenda seemed to be less directed at the economic base than the cultural superstructure.

On the other hand, Trump focused on getting these jobs back, building new factories and protecting American manufacturers from low wage competitors in the third world.

If Ford has just committed to spending $1.6BN on a factory in Mexico, would it turn its back on its investment and return production to the US? Would it expect wages to be comparable to those in Mexico? Who would want these jobs (or these third world wages) in the US? Trump supporters?

The other Trump strategy is to reduce corporate taxes, in the expectation that the funds will be spent on jobs. However, what projects will these funds be invested in? Will they contribute to infrastructure development or maintenance? Will the savings simply be passed onto shareholders in the form of higher profit distributions and dividends? Will the shareholders spend their profits on jobs?

These are the challenges that confront the Trump administration. Whether you voted for him or not, he will be presiding over an economic experiment that might or might not work.

However, internally, he has earned the right to conduct his experiment, because he prioritised domestic American employment over third world poverty.

Trump tells it like it is clearing the air that the media has clouded. He speaks of how America can be great again and how we can achieve it and it was tremendous.

I enjoyed this book because it shows his real views and what he says in writing.

I didn't like how it could've been longer but its one of those campaign books.

I would recommend this book to anyone who questions him and his morals or views or any one who believes in him.

In 2008 I caucused in Colorado for Barack Obama. I was a delegate representing the Democrats of Larimer county. I voted for President Obama again in 2012. I just switched (January 4, 2016) my party affiliation so as I could caucus for Mr. Trump in 2016. This book, as Trump says on the jacket, is: “my blueprint for how to Make America Great Again.” It is exactly that. The book is a detailed, 40,000 word, discussion on what and how Mr. Trump plans to do that, why it needs doing, and why he is uniquely qualified to get it done. It’s a compelling argument. In fact, if you read this book and are void of bias and prejudice, you’ll most likely agree.
One thing that stood out to me was how fast he wrote the book, with no co-author, and also how up-to-the-minute it was. Released in November, the book includes many of the events of the first three/four months of the campaign. In other words, he wrote it while campaigning – a non-stop, relentless process of rallies, town-hall meetings, position papers, press briefings, debates, and interviews, not to mention non-stop tweeting – covering some twenty states. The man is nearly 70 years old and hardly sleeps, maybe four hours a night. He works non-stop, which he has done since he began working for his father in the early 70’s. His mind never stops observing and thinking—BIG—about what he can and will do.
At the back of the book he posted his financial statement (his net worth is over eight billion dollars); a list of the seventy (70) properties he owns (commercial buildings, condos, apartments, residences, resorts, golf courses, hotels, airplanes, and even a winery); in nine countries around the world. What he is, first-and-foremost, is a developer, and now he wants to develop, or re-develop, America. Many of the properties he owns he bought in various states of run-downness, which some might say is the state of America; and he renovated them and turned them into first class, world class, properties. In doing so, he created thousands, 100s of thousands of jobs: temporary (construction) and permanent (service and managerial.) In the process, he also improved the local communities, i.e. upgraded the community, and in so doing – increased property values, which has a ripple effect: Improving schools, education, and the overall quality of life. What Mr. Trump wants to do is, do for the country what he did for his company and name (=brand.) He is the opposite of what most politicians are: “All talk, no action.”
Basically the book is what you’ll hear if you watch one of his rallies on YouTube, but with a lot more detail. He answers the questions you might have. His writing style is like his speaking style – direct, authentic, and honest – even with his sense of humor coming through. In the chapter, “Our Infrastructure Is Crumbling” there is this: “the Chinese build new cities over there in about 12 minutes, while we take years to get the permits to add a dormer window to our own homes.” Funny, true in the abstract, and exaggerated to make his point – which is the way he rolls. But, of course The Media and his rivals would call him out as being untruthful, if not out-and-out lying. He’s very critical of The Media, and also politicians, but, he tells you why they do what they do, which is good to know because then you see how it all makes sense. Trump is very big on the values that we all aspire to, but he practices them, without exception – honesty, straightforwardness, love of family, fiscally conservative, flexible, self-discipline – Don’t lie, steal, or cheat, or tolerate those that do! Ha! The exact opposite of many (most) people. The status quo is frightened of him, no doubt about that, because he is not beholden to them. All his life he’s been told, “You can’t do that!” (Even by his father.) And yet, he does, and he succeeds, to the benefit of all.
At the end of the book, there is the “About The Author” “blurb.” Which is funny because the whole book is “about the author.” This quote, blurb, unquote, is 17 pages and 4,000 words, just in case you missed it, and includes a bullet-point list of his properties. It begins, “Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story … . He is the archetypal businessman—a deal-maker without peer.”
I strongly recommend you read this book before you vote. All profits are going to charities, I think he said. At this writing his Social Media followers have increased by 4 million; and he has risen to 42% in the national polls, more than tripling his closet rival – and has made fools of all the “experts.”

Worst political book I have ever read, hands down. It is written for a third grade reading level, it contains a lot of disturbing statements about people of other races and religions, and it frighteningly alludes to loyalty, the consequences for perceived disloyalty, and the militarization of our police force. It also proposes turning our military into a band of mercenaries to be rented out to whoever can pay for them. If you can get through it, I encourage you to try because knowing one's enemy is a good idea. But don't think you are going to get cogent policy positions or even complete sentences.

A must read!

A great perspective on the real Trump; what he believes and what he will accomplish as President of the United States. Because I've read The Art Of The Deal and others of his books, as well as studied all of his campaign speeches, I found some of the material redundant. But to the book's credit, the repeated information is far more detailed and comprehensive.

I spent almost an hour writing a long review, but I pressed something on my phone and it disappeared. So, I'm just going to piece a few thoughts together, very quickly as I'm ready to nod off for the night.

I'm not a fan of D J Trump.

This book reads pretty much exactly how Trump speaks (with a monosyllabic vocabulary, declarative sentences, grandiose statements and bold declarations of his wealth). All this leads me to believe that Trump "wrote" this book inasmuch as he dictated and someone transcribed his rantings and ravings on a variety of topics (foreign policy, infrastructure, economy, healthcare, militarization, education and more).

Trump thinks global warming is a farce. He thinks other countries should pay us for our military "protecting" them. He thinks our neighbors willfully send us criminals to populate our country. He thinks it is possible to have war as a last resort, while at the same time expanding the military to ensure it is always the biggest and best. ("You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war." -Einstein).

I tried to judge based on the content of his ideas alone, but it was not just wearisome, but almost impossible to ignore the overall tone of this book.

The tone is 1,000,000,000% self-satisfaction.

Arrogance and smugness overfloweth.

Overconfidence ensures that you are the first to step onto a landmine, right?!??!

Trump's confidence is only matched by his heightened defensiveness. He feels victimized by the media. Poor baby! He now wants to set the record straight. Trump wants us all to know that he is way more successful than even he thought possible. Whenever and wherever possible, Trump felt inclined to inform us of his well-deserved riches (he is worth over $10 billion) and of his many building projects.

Trump believes he is qualified to be President because he is "successful." Money is not synonymous with true success.

This is perfect for those who feel instead of think. Plenty of propaganda for the angry to become even more enraged, and to feel completely justified in doing so.

We need a leader who can unify the country, not tear us further apart.

Decided to read this because, know your enemy, right? Well, little here I didn't know. Much meglomaniacal ranting and nonsensical generalization. Trump spends more time telling us how great and rich he is than outlining any specific policies. If we you like bluster, arrogance, and posturing, Trump's your man.

Ah, shut the hell up, Donald.

I read the free Kindle preview of this on Amazon, and just that was more than enough for me. Plenty of spin and lies, and outlandish claims as anyone might expect from the Orangeman. There's also a lot pf projection where he points out flaws in others that are very much part of his own personal character.

"I have always been a patriot"

Racism, misogynism, and ageism (among other isms) is not patriotic.

"Nobody likes to be bullied"

This coming from a bully, ha.

If nothing else, this book provides a peek into the mind of a narcissist, which is pretty educational in itself - basically what NOT to do/think., lol.

Maybe most of the Americans knew trump well as a successful businessman even before declaring his presidential candidacy. As a citizen of a country in the other part of the world, I get to read this book to know who is the real trump? during the electoral competition, I was aware of what the media wants us to know about trump. For me, That wasn't enough. So I decided i want to judge for myself.
Let's begin with preface. The comedy is coming stay tuned :D Trump refused to put a smiley picture of himself on the book's cover preferring an angry face because of the book's topic " Crippled America" :D

He starts his book by declaring the fact he would like you to know and believe "we need someone with a proven track record in business who understands greatness" referring to himself of course and he kept repeating such words all over his book. He discussed each issue or aspect in a whole chapter. I will try as much as i can to give you a hint of some of his ideas and believes.

Although each chapter discusses a certain idea, we find trump jumping back and forth from one idea to another. From discussing a political issue and then suddenly moving to attacking politicians and this takes us to the second point, in every chapter Trump attacks politicians, he dedicated a whole chapter to that purpose as well. U.S. president has to be a businessman or economist and a politician but he has to be a politician and a diplomat, He has no other option. Trump says what comes immediately to his mind. He is very straightforward. I do believe he is truly faithful to his country. He assumes he is with promoting religious freedom. I hope he will preserve his word towards minorities especially the Muslim minorities. Needless to mention, The economic aspect in discussing all the issues is very clear. His political views and political knowledge generally are limited to one word POWER. Politically, His views are radical and materialistic. I do hope Trump acts better that his words.

So as you may guess from the title, this is Donald Trump's "Here's How" on his plans for the United States of America. The book was published on November 3, 2015; one year and a few days before the Election Day. So basically Trump used this book as a way to spread his ideas and plans for the future of America and try to get more supporters.

Well, there are those who want to make America FREE again

Brits are genuinely awesome. They sarcastically want to make America GREAT BRITAIN again

And then there's the sexy Neil Degrasse Tyson, who wants to make America Smart again

But then there are 61,900,651 people + 1 person who want to make America Great again

on Donald J. Trump, we're talking about a man who doesn't want to play the game as others crave to do so. He enthusiastically wants to break the status quo and play the game with his rules. The following paragraph sums it up really well:
You listen to the politicians and it's as if they are speaking from a script titled "How Boring Can I possibly BE?" watching some of these people being interviewed is about as exciting as watching paint dry. They are so afraid of tripping on their words, terrified that they're going to say something unscripted and go off message_That's the phrase they use, "go off message"_that they are verbally paralyzed. They'll do anything they can to avoid answering a question_and the media plays the game with them.
The object of this game is to appear thoughtful while still looking like a regular guy (or gal) who would be fun to have a beer with. The pollsters tell them how to be everything to everybody without alienating anyone. These same politicians who boldly promise they are going to stand up to our enemies won't even give direct answers to reporters. I don't play that game, because I'm a very successful businessman and my mind-set is that this country needs to bring itself back from the depths of all our problems and the 19 trillion we owe.

Trump absolutely hates the mainstream system of politics and he's got absolutely no fear to criticize it, heavily! I actually love this paragraph:
Different people might approach complex problems like this differently. There are people who look at a problem like this and shake their heads, thinking that it can't be done. There is a name for people like that: Governor. Then there are people who talk the issue, throw around other people's money, and maybe even show you drawings. There's a name for those people too: Senator.

and here he explains why he decided to run for presidency:
For years i had thought _but resisted_ running for the presidency. Friends, colleagues, and customers encouraged me to do something. I thought, "I'm not a politician, and I have a huge, successful business to run."
But then I realized I couldn't stand what I was seeing. I couldn't believe the hypocrisy and inaction of Washington "insiders" who wanted to keep the gravy train flowing in their direction, while outside the beltway, Americans were suffering and they were rightfully angry about the lack of leadership and creativity.

So this guy can be highly favorable if you're sick and tired of the mainstream politics. I assume many of Trump's supporters voted for him, 'cause they saw somebody who doesn't want to solve the problems with some words of wisdom! They saw an a**hole who wants to make sure Americans are living in the great America that their grandparents were promised, somebody who wants to revive the American Dream. They deliberately chose somebody as creepy as Trump, 'cause they weren't receiving the decent health care, education, salary, low tax rate and many qualities they expected to get as an American citizen. in Hilary Clinton, they were seeing somebody who was supposed to continue Obama's politics and when you're stuck in a bad condition, "change" is definitely a better option, even if it may well lead to a "worse" condition. [Clinton won Popular vote, but even so, it was Trump who knew how to get the electoral vote. That's, of course, when you ignore the conspiracy theories revolving around how Russians/Illuminati/Martians/Etc. hacked the voting system in Trump's favor LOL.]

Among Trump's plans to provide a better future for Americans, a change in America's tax system is a significant factor. He finds the current tax system "too complicated to even understand" and he wants to simplify it. He will also provide "Tax relief" for people under a certain amount of income, which is something really big.
The first goal of the plan will be to provide tax relief. I f you are single and earning less than $25,000 or married and earning less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax. This will immediately remove some nearly 75 million households from the income tax rolls.

To free 75 million people from their income taxes is really a good thing, no doubt about it. But to Make America Great Again, Donald Trump is openly willing to kill and destroy every other nation, and I'm not even exaggerating. He actually blames his predecessor, Barack Obama, for being too kind with other nations and costing US citizens the life they deserve. Here, I think, is where people are divided to two groups. There are those people who want to live in a borderless world, where everyone's free to go everywhere and there's no wall and no gate barriers and no border police. Therefore, they hate Trump. The second group are more nationalistic. They want their country to grow, get rich, raise its flag higher than any other country and becomes a role model to follow for every other nation. Therefore, they love Trump, they support Trump and they are those who voted trump. Now you can argue they are morons, but they exist and you can't neglect a big minority's rights. Here's how their beloved president issues the problem:
Everyone has heard me talking about our immigration problem. Well, there is an important reason that people are willing to risk their lives to get into this country. In 2015, more than 4.4 million people had applied and were waiting to legally immigrate to the United States_that list even includes more than 50,000 Iranians. For people coming from some countries, the estimated waiting period is 33 years. We also have somewhere between 12 and 15 million people here legally on green cards or temporary visas. Nobody knows how many illegal immigrants are here, but the usual estimate is more than 11 million people.
For the last several years I've been watching things change. Like most of you, I don't like what has been happening. I was asked by Chuck Todd on Meet the Press when the last time was I thought America was living up to its promise. During the administration of Ronald Reagan, I said. It was a time when we felt so proud to be Americans.

Speaking of Trump and Obama's differences, let's quote the first few paragraphs of the first chapter of the book:
America NEEDS TO START winning again.
Nobody likes a loser and nobody likes to be bullied. Yet, here we stand today, the great superpower on Earth, and everyone is eating our lunch. That's not winning.
We have a president who tries to get tough and draw a line in the sand, but when the line gets crossed, there are no repercussions.

and here's another one:
I am sick and tired of hearing politicians who are all talk and no action. President Obama and his people are great at sending letters and press releases, but they never seem to have any consequences for foreign governments that don't listen to them.

and the last one, I promise!
The deal president Obama negotiated with Iran was the worst I have ever seen. we couldn't have done worse.
Iran was boxed in and the sanctions were hurting them. President Obama put his "legacy" on the line and before we walked into negotiations, the mullahs knew he had to have a deal or end up looking even more incompetent, so they fleeced him.
Disgraceful

And here we face The Iran Problem! Iran is mentioned a total of 24 times in Trump's book. That's crazy when you compare it to the mighty China [being mentioned 19 times], Russia _arguably America's biggest enemy [ironically being mentioned 5 times], and even Mexico_Trump's biggest pain in the a** [being mentioned 11 times]. As an Iranian, It feels really frightening, 'cause we were just in the beginning of shaping a peaceful relationship with the West and now we see ourselves under a huge threat, even a military threat and even a death threat. It was only a few nights ago that for the first time in my life, I thought about being killed in a war! Not in the war fronts, but being killed in my house by a bomb or something. it's so very, infinitely, frustrating. It's an unaccomplished life. You leave this world mid-way through, just because Donald Trump, a New York-born Billionaire, thinks Iran deal is like more dangerous than anything in the world. And as an Iranian who knows well about his country, I'm telling you world, everything you hear about Iran and how they are near to make atomic bombs are just pure bull**it! Iran's government isn't after atomic bombs, Iranians DO NOT want to have atomic bombs and they actually laugh to such claims. Even hard-liners don't think about having atomic bombs in their wildest dreams. Don't buy what Fox News tries to give you. Just don't buy it.

And then there's the wall, Trump's F***ing wall ! let's quote straightly from the man of the hour:
The first thing we need to do is secure our southern border_and we need to do it now. We have to stop the flood, and the best way to do that is to build a wall. People say you can't do it_ how do you build a wall across the whole border?
Believe me, it can be done.
Nobody can build a wall like me. I will build a great wall on our southern border. It doesn't have to cover the entire border. Some areas are already secured with physical barriers. In other areas the terrain is too difficult for people to cross. It's probably about 1,000 miles we will need to secure with the new wall.
... Many people don't know that even Mexico has built its own wall on its southern border_to keep our illegal immigrants.

I find the whole idea of building a wall in the year 2017 just stupid and ludicrous. A huge amount of money will be squandered to build a wall which is naturally a symbol of hatred, distance, suppression and separation. But, still, I tend not to mock him, 'cause illegal immigrants are a big problem for a country and America has an estimated 11 million people who are illegally living there. There should be something done about that, one way or the other. Now, a lot of people has heard that Trump's gonna get the required money for making the wall from Mexico, and they think it's another ludicrous idea. That no way Mexico will pay that money and Trump should pay that money from America's treasury. I used to think the same way, but he's got further plans for that.
... Let me repeat that, one way or another: Mexico will pay for it.
How? We could increase the various border fees we charge. we could increase the fees on the temporary visas. we could even impound remittance payments derived from illegal wages. Foreign governments could tell their embassies to start helping, otherwise they risk troubled relations with America.
If necessary we could pay for the wall through a tariff or cut foreign aid to Mexico or simply make it clear to the Mexican government that it's to the benefit of their very profitable _for them_ relationship with the United states to pay for it.
But one way or another, they are going to pay for it.
I don't mind putting a big, beautiful door in the wall so people can come in and out... Legally.

There are many other things to discuss about this book. One thing I've not mentioned yet is his emphasis on making US military the best in the world and so spending huge money to further improve and equip it. It's freaking terrible that such money is going to be spent over guns and tanks and other military equipment while it could be used for scientific, medical, environmental... Oh, damn, don't get me started on how he doesn't even believe in environmental issues going on. The guy doesn't even believe it. He thinks it's just conspiracy theories by environmentalists, so they can attract more money for their so-called projects and get richer and make more noise about climate change and global warming and other environmental catastrophes. Personally, I believe that lots of things in this world are not show as they really are. I do believe in some conspiracy theories myself, which may well surprise you. But melting glaciers leading to sea level rise is fact, not a conspiracy theory. In a few decades, some of the biggest metropolitan cities in the current world will be under water, yet Trump believes these are all faked researches. Trump's reason for rejecting climate change, global warming, renewable energy, etc. seems to lay in his past business projects and obstacles he's had with environmentalists. Here's an example he's explained in the book:
It's no secret that I've had serious personal issues with the supporters of wind turbines. For several years, I battled the Scottish government over its plan to construct a really ugly wind farm consisting of eleven giant turbines right offshore of one of the most beautiful Golf resorts in the world in Aberdeen.
... There isn't sufficient wind power anyplace else?
... Fortunately, this plan was denied because of the turbines might harm the estimated 7,000freshwater pearl mussels, an endangered species on the European Union list, that were living in the Doonbeg River, and also be bad for tourism... We were saved by mussels.

He calls environmentalist "Tree-huggers" which is a funny term btw (being Vegan, I definitely consider myself an environmentalist)! But what sucks more than anything is the lack of respect. He simply has no respect for anybody who's opposed to his ideas. His comments about women are disgustingly sexist and at times he goes beyond sexist; he just turns to a pedophile and a creepy old man whom you don't feel safe when he's around! His comments on Ivanka Trump_her daughter_are the worst comments I've heard in my life in any possible category (ain't gonna mention the comments due to extreme lack of respect).

A very big contradiction in this book_when you compare it with Trump's actual works as the President of the United States_ is his view on terrorism and Saudi Arabi's role in it. As you know, more than a week ago, Trump signed an executive order that banned people of 7 countries_all under Muslim governments_ to enter America for 90 days. This horrible order was supposedly made to keep America safe from terrorism. The restrictions on all refugees and travellers from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen went into effect on January 27, causing chaos at airports across the US and leaving travellers trying to reach the country in limbo. The wonderful_in a bad way_contradiction in this executive order is seeing some countries being banned without having one single terrorist attacker killing a US citizen in the last 40 years and then neglecting some big names in terrorism_e.g Saudi Arabia_who had the upper hand in 9/11 tragedy. That being said, now read Trump's view on Saudi Arabia:
But Saudi Arabia is a main target of [ wtf?! ] or in some cases the home of terrorists [ now that's right! ].

Yet Saudi Arabia wasn't banned! smells like "thin" spirit, Donald!

To finish the review, I wanna emphasize that regarding Donald Trump, I always tried not to hate him with blind eyes, just the way many people do. I've always thought of Hilary Clinton as a more corrupted and villain politician than DJT and I'm still glad she didn't get elected.

in another hand, I believe Trump's presidency has two sides: how he's gonna Makes America Great Again and how he's gonna F**k every other nation over, except for Israel maybe! I think he's gonna be good for America in economic ways. He's gonna renovate the infrastructure of USA and make new airports, bridges, railroads and stuff. He's gonna bring back BIG companies to USA by lowering the tax rate and make lots of jobs. Although we all hate the idea of making a wall in the southern border of America, but it'll help keeping away the trouble makers from there and increase the security [although from now on, there will be no Mexican workers working on LA skyscrapers with minimum wages]

But the other aspect is just a nightmare for those who got to pay the price for America's road to being Great again, and that certainly includes my country, Iran, more than any nation. The only thing I can wish for is not a practical war in my country. It shouldn't be happening. It's infinitely barbaric and stupid and unreasonable and ugly, way uglier than how a few turbines in a wind farm look ugly to Trump.

An October 2015 campaign book by genius billionaire playboy philanthropist United States presidential candidate Donald Trump outlining his positions on various issues and making his case that he can Make America Great Again. In Trump's words near the end of the book, "I have a vision and I understand the process by which we're going to accomplish our goals. We need to strengthen our military, help our vets, stand up to our enemies, deter illegal immigration, rebuild our infrastructure, revamp our tax code and educational system, and rip apart the ridiculous policies of the past, including Obamacare and the Iran nuclear 'agreement'. Most importantly, we need to reinvigorate the American dream and give our country back to the millions of people who have labored so hard for so little." Each chapter is devoted to describing Trump's ideas on one of these items.

I've written a lengthy review but it's probably more than enough to say that the book failed to convince me that Trump's policies and plans (or lack thereof) are workable and it doesn't seem like he would make a good U.S. President.

It is election season, so it is time for my "reading of the candidates, in their own words". Back in 2008 I read Barack Obama's books Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance and The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream and John McCain's books Faith of My Fathers: A Family Memoir and Worth the Fighting for: A Memoir. In 2012, I read Mitt Romney's book Believe in America: Mitt Romney's Plan for Jobs and Economic Growth. For this 2016 election season I will be reading Hillary Clinton's Hard Choices, but before I read that I decided to read this most recent book by Donald Trump, which he published after announcing he was running for President.

Goodreads says you are supposed to review "the book" and not "the author" (though I'm not sure that rule totally applies when the book is an autobiographical work) but to review this book, for content alone, I have to say it is very unique. The author does have a very high opinion of himself, and of his hotels, and of his golf courses. "People think it's hard to create a building? Try putting in a new golf course in New York City. In 2015 we opened Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in the Bronx, and it instantly became of of the greatest public golf courses in the world.....I created a magnificent golf course." His 52 story building in San Francisco "has been used in films, including Dirty Harry and The Towering Inferno." And from a foreign policy standpoint, "the Chinese have their biggest bank in Trump Tower. They want to be part of Trump wherever they can." In his opinion, Trump anything is the best there is, world wide, as "all you need to do is take a nice walk through the greatest cities of the world - and look up. Look up, and you'll see the Trump buildings rising skyward."

Any why else does he think he should be President? Let's see, "People who have done business with me will tell you that I never say something unless I mean it.. Good to know! And, "I don't make threats without following through." Okay, also good to know, as you do seem to make a lot of threats.

And of course he is not a man of contradictions, like these two quotes from pages 100 and 101: "Anchor babies? They're here for one day and the child is entitled to a lifetime of benefits when others have spend a lifetime, or their lives, earning them. This needs to end!". Yet on the very next page he states "I was born in the United States of America. With that came the amazing opportunity that every American citizen has: The right to become the best possible person you can be. The right to be treated equally with all other Americans. Apparently being born in the USA only counts as citizenship for some people, like men named Trump.

Of course, he is a man with an underprivileged childhood too, as he describes the tiny bit of help his father gave him starting out: "He loaned me a small amount of money - loaned, not gave - around $1 million - money that I probably could have gotten from a bank". Yes, most young men can easily walk into any bank and be loaned the paltry sum of $1 million dollars.

As for energy, "we need to keep drilling...that includes fracking.", and don't even get him started on those hideously ugly green energy wind turbines: "It's no secret that I've had serious personal issues with the supporters of wind turbines. For several years I battled the Scottish government over its plan to construct a really ugly wind farm consisting of eleven giant turbines right offshore of one of the most beautiful golf resorts in the world in Aberdeen. The Trump International Golf Links Scotland". He goes on to brag about the great favor he did Scotland by holding up this project for almost 5 years in court. Who would want green energy when you can have a Trump golf course with no "ugly view"!

Dragging things out in court seems to be a favored pastime of Mr. Trump: "I sued NBC, but settled after buying its half of the company and selling the whole thing to IMG." "Currently I am suing Univision for a substantial amount of money." When Palm Beach went after him for zoning violations and started fining him $25o a day "I filed a lawsuit against the town for $25 million, claiming my First, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendment rights were being violated....Those fines added up to $120,000 by the time we had worked out a deal with the city. Rather than paying the fine, I donated $100,000 to Iraq War veterans' charities." So I guess that lawsuit was dropped, as he ended up donating his fines. Slick move!

I could keep going on, as there is so much good material in this book, but I think I will end here and just say that by reading Mr. Trump's own words I have certainly received enough information to help me make up my mind for the upcoming Presidential election. Thank you, Mr. Trump.
