Denver Museum of Nature and Science
Earlier called the Natural History Museum, Denver Museum of Nature and Science houses more than one million objects from around the world, and features everything from largest nuggets of gold found in Colorado and dinosaur bones to Egyptian mummies and remains of Ice Age animals. Spread over 80 acres of land, Denver Zoo is modeled after Kenyan Nature Preserve and houses more than 4,000 animals that include tigers, black rhinos, kangaroos, orangutans and more. Started with the donation of an orphaned American black bear, Denver Zoo became the first zoo in the United States to use naturalistic zoo enclosures rather than cages with bars. Check out Predator Ridge, the recreated African savanna, to see hyenas, and lions. For apes and monkeys, visit Primate Panorama, and get immersed in a world of balmy jungles and coral reefs at Tropical Discovery.
Coors Field
For all the sports enthusiasts, Coors Field is a place to visit! The stadium, which opened in 1995, is the home field of Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies, and has a seating capacity of around 50,000 people. Coors Field is not only a great stadium, but also a place to grab and enjoy local craft brews and food. Catch a game at the stadium, and be sure to visit the Interactive Area. If you can’t watch a game, take a guided tour to learn about the stadium and see a bit of behind-the-scenes action.
