A wild ride. Really well paced. Lots of memorable scenes. Keeps you guessing. Great film.
It's a great cat vs. mouse game. All this without computers. True detectives.
Edward Fox was so cold.
No one talks about director Fred Zinneman these days, but this was his first directorial effort in 7 years, after winning Best Director for a Man for All Seasons. He also helmed films like High Noon, From Here to Eternity, A Nun's Story, Oklahoma! and Julia. Here, he took the best-selling Frederick Forsyth book and made it into cinematic art.
Don't want to do a spoiler but kinda cool having the assassin not factor in French habits and customs when targeting De Gaulle. (It doesn't exist in a separate universe where De Gaulle was assassinated)
The Day of the Jackal (1973) PG
Nameless, faceless... relentlessly moving towards the date with death that would rock the world.
