Goucher College Reviews

While at Goucher College, I loved the professors and faculty. My lacrosse coach was an amazing resource at Goucher and supported me through difficult times. My sophomore year was especially difficult as I dealt with family health issues, but the faculty was extremely supportive. The smaller class sizes allowed me to form connections with my professors, and they genuinely cared about me and wanted me to succeed. However, concerning housing issues, I experienced many. Due to the Ac system, it would be hot outside due to Maryland’s fluctuating weather, but our dorms would still be on the heating system; one time I came home to my dorm from a lacrosse game, and my room was 83 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, there is only one place to eat on campus, and the food is lackluster; it could be really good one day and inedible another. The social life on Goucher is also very secluded, and parties are rarely thrown. Overall, the campus was small and intimate, but I outgrew the campus.
It's a great school for people with fire under your seat and are naturally ambitious. The student body is not very competitive so it'll be relatively easy to rise to club presidents/sports stars while remaining a top performing student. However, if you are not someone who's a self starter you'll find it harder to achieve that level of success.
Goucher is a small institution that feels like home. The campus is very gorgeous filled will so many trails for students to walk on and feel refreshed. All of the professors are very engaged and provide students with oppotunities to join research with them.
