Welcome - St George's School Windsor

HEAD’S WELCOME

St George’s is no ordinary school! Founded in 1348 to educate the choristers of St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, we are steeped in heritage, yet offer an unrivalled contemporary education. Whilst we remain true to one of our core purposes as a choir school, we now look after 350 girls and boys aged 3-13 in a flourishing day and boarding community.

Catherine, Arthur, Patrick, Hamish and I feel so incredibly lucky to live and work in such beautiful surroundings, where the advantages of a town centre school meet the treat of having expansive playing fields and woodlands. This gives our students a sense of freedom that is so very important to preserve the magic of childhood.

To prepare children for the opportunities that await them beyond prep school, learning must be fun, yet rigorous and ambitious. We want to instil a passion for life-long learning in all our children, whilst giving them the chance to explore and experience a feast of exciting opportunities, both within the classroom and across all areas of school life.

Most important to us, however, is the happiness of each child. Happy children succeed, and I place the relationships between staff, children and parents at the forefront of my ethos for education. I couldn’t be prouder to lead a team who care deeply about children and have a commitment to find each individual child’s strengths and develop their self-esteem ahead of their entrance to a wide range of leading schools across the UK.

There must be no such thing as an ordinary education. A child’s memory of school should transport them to a world of imagination, enchantment, joy, ambition and pride. We extend a warm welcome to you to visit us on any day and meet our wonderful boys and girls who make this such a special community, where warmth and kindness permeate across everything we do.

Please call my office to make an appointment to meet with me. I can’t wait to share our story with you.
