O dia estava perfeito para um casamento. Era o que todos diziam ao redor de Jiang Cheng, desde sua mãe ao acordá-lo, até a criada que veio arrumar seu cabelo para a cerimônia. Jiang Cheng parecia ser o único a discordar. Ele se sentia péssimo, não era dessa forma que ele imaginou seu casamento, sua vida dali em diante. E nem todo o sol e céu azul o fariam mudar de ideia.
Depois de ter que se casar como segundo esposo de Nie Mingjue, Jiang Cheng tem que aprender a navegar uma casa com um primeiro esposo que não está exatamente disposto a dividir sua casa e sua família. Para isso, ele tem que descobrir porque Nie MIngjue rejeitou sua primeira opção de segundo esposo, e o que o fez correr para arranjar outro casamento. Jiang Cheng’s arrival into the world is a jarring one; he recalls blaring horns, a pair of bright, blinding lights, then, agony as a thousand-metric ton of moving steel smashed into his body, sending him flying into the air, bones shattered to smithereens. He recalls lying there, prone, on the asphalt and most definitely bleeding out, and then, in the next breath, he’s…here. In this new world, lying in a bed that looks like it comes from a set of a Chinese period drama, getting greeted by a disembodied voice that calls itself his System.
He understands what happened right away.
“Really?” he exclaims. “I got done in by fucking Truck-kun? I can’t believe I couldn’t even isekai properly without succumbing to a fucking meme!”
In which Jiang Cheng gets transmigrated into the role of omega heir Jiang Wanyin of Yunmeng Jiang, and decides that he will kick canon to the curb in favour of living his life hedonistically and shamelessly while dual cultivating his way to becoming powerful.

Jiang Cheng had dedicated his life to becoming a therapist. He was praised by both coworkers and clients alike for his advice and strict confidentiality. At the age of 43, days finally went past in a pleasant daze.
It had been an accident. He saw a long-time client stop in front of a car. He hadn’t thought, his body had just reacted. Pushed aside, his client watched wide-eyed as the vehicle slammed into Jiang Cheng's side. Jiang Cheng knew he’d do it again if he had to.
His friends always claimed he cared about others too much.
But when Jiang Cheng opened his eyes to a sect still early in recovery, and in a body not too unlike his own, but still not his, well. He thinks that perhaps his friends were right.
The original huffed and looked away from him.
“It seems I’m still replaceable in the end…”
Jiang Cheng’s smile cracked ever so slightly.
‘God, this kid needs so much therapy.’
It seems his job is not done just yet, but this feels like it’ll be one of the toughest jobs he’s taken yet.

As for her courtesy name… Jiāng Chéng had long since grown to despise it. Wǎnyín. It was not an auspicious name in the slightest what with Wǎn ( 晚 ) meaning ‘at night’ and Yín ( 吟 ) meaning ‘to recite’ but also ‘to cry/lament’.
Lamenting through the night. It was such a poetic way of saying that the name really emphasized on the act of mourning and grieving.
She had never lingered on it too hard, not before the name itself became her reality. And really, after so many losses, she should have seen it coming sooner but she had been more than happy to ignore the metaphoric claws closing in on Niè Míngjué.Love is a battlefield far crueler than war.

Maybe it should have scared him, but it's not like they were real, all those sightings and stories were just made up. Plus it’s not like there’d been a sighting in years. However, the alcohol (or not) does not let you think things very well and a hot night in Qinghe becomes the perfect scenario for two quite wounded hearts to approach. Thus begins a very tender romance but destined for suffering.

“What the hell is this?” Jiang Cheng demands to know, crossing his arms in front of his chest and Nie Mingjue sits down on the couch, pretending that his heart isn’t about to beat out of his chest.
“What does it look like?” he innocently gives back and Jiang Cheng narrows his eyes at him.
“Like a goddamn present.”
“Then that’s probably what it is,” Nie Mingjue teasingly says and doesn’t shrink back under Jiang Cheng’s glare.
“It’s your birthday. Why the hell am I getting a gift?”
“It is, technically, a gift for me,” Nie Mingjue says and now the glare melts off Jiang Cheng’s face to turn into a confused frown.
