referencing Gotham! (LP, Album) GERN061
Fine pressing, except for the very end of side B with a few slight pops on the last two tracks. Sounds good otherwise, really good recordreferencing Gotham! (CD, Album) GERN061
DFA came, "House of the Jealous Lovers" smashed, but the album that impressed me the most of the retro dance punk years was this one. Not anything slightly innovative in here regarding the other mentioned bands (James Murphy/Tim Goldsworthy made everything sound a bit like the same) but the hooks are there and the production puts the highlight in the catchiest moments. Songs like "Dance to the Underground" appear here in the most refined shape, built like a remake of the greatest hits from Au Pairs, Gang of Four or Pylon, in the years where ecstasy was shared to dance to bands with guitars.
