Editorial Reviews
In 2017, Local H embarked on their first ever tour of Europe. Yeah, they couldn't believe it either. Luckily for us, they brought back recordings from several of the dates and assembled them into one non-stop, ear-splitting document of sonic brutality. Unvarnished and raw, these blistering live versions are among the most ferocious performances of Local H's 28 year career. Sooooo... you should probably check this out.

I was hesitant to order this fearing that it would resemble the older ALIVE 05 and unfortunately it did. You might like this if you had never heard Local H before but I've got quite a bit of their stuff and the non-studio bootleg live shows are much better. The live tracks here, from the recent HEY KILLER cd are better live for sure, but the older stuff is pretty much already on 05. Even the junk from HALLELUJAH I'M A BUM sounds better live and that cd was awful. Scott also fronts a band called Scott Lucas and the Married Men which I would describe as "adult contemporary hipster" genre, if you like stuff like that. Maybe Scott turns on the full moon? I don't know. Anyway, even that stuff was better than BUM. Weirdly tho, another (positive) talent that H displays is their ability to cover good songs and make them even better. Not so easy as you well know. They could possibly make Nickleback tolerable but I could be really reaching... Maybe it's the impossible # of pedals Scott uses, again I don't know, but u tube covers like SHOCK THE MONKEY or KEEP ON ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD ( which I was there for in Peoria) are great. H has a couple of those cd's called Awesome Mix Tapes and I got those because H can slash & pound out even 10 piece band songs. Just go see them live, but also you then have to listen to Scott talk politics which, for some reason, he can't help. So, already the H fan sheeples are hating this review and I'll make sure of it by saying Trump is doing pretty damn good so far and might even make Zion great again, tho it would take a lot of paint and btw Scott is a better musician then poser bruce springsteen so he doesn't have to pretend to be a working class welder or whatever, but if you want to try out Local H then HAMFISTED is top notch followed by most everything until BUM, and get the tape mix 1 & 2. Hopefully they put out more of those.

I had all but given up on live albums because of the low quality, sing-alongs, and over-abundance of cheering, but I thought if anyone could make a good live album it'd be Local H. This album exceeded my expectations. If you crank this album up to an appropriate ear-numbing volume, it gives the closest audio approximation to listening to the artist live that I can recall. High Fiving MF and and The One with "Kid" really stand out in that regard. Listening to this album for the first time made me happier than I've been in a while. If you love good loud rock music, you'd do good to buy this.
