In an episode of ONE-ON-ONE WITH KIRK CAMERON, Kirk’s sisters, Candace Cameron Bure, Melissa Cameron, and Bridgette Cameron Ridenour, join Kirk to talk about their family values and an incredible miracle in Bridgette’s life.

“Family always came first before anyone else, and so I’m just carrying that on with my family. Our family is first, and I want them to enjoy one another,” Melissa said in the episode. “I want [my kids] to learn what it is to function as a family.” Movieguide® highlighted earlier how Melissa loves to spend time with her brood of five. She said, “I get to delight in them and enjoy them.”

Movieguide® also shared Kirk’s five most important family values: 1. Love God, 2. Family first, 3. Be kind, 4. Work hard, and 5. Tell the truth.

On the show, Kirk opened up the floor for Bridgette to share a miraculous story about how their mom became essential in a time of urgency. Bridgette suffered a miscarriage and called her mom while in the ER, who said:

‘Bridgette, whatever you do, do not let the doctors take you into the OR.’ And I said, ‘Mom they’re prepping me to go in, and you know, to do a procedure,” and she said, ‘Bridgette do not let the doctors do anything until you get an ultrasound.’

So the nurse came in, and she was about ready to take me, and I looked at her and said, ‘I’m doing the ultrasound in the room.’ And she said, “No, we’ll do the ultrasound in the OR.’ And I said, ‘No, I’m having it here.’ Well, then I became the problem patient. Yeah, the eye rolling from the nurses… they brought the machine in there, and at that point John had come in, my husband. And mom was on her way, and they did the ultrasound.

The nurse looked at me and she looked at the ultrasound machine. She looked at me again and she looked at the machine, and…I went, “Why, what?” And she started crying, and she said you’re still pregnant, and I started crying, and I said, ‘How can you say that to me when I just miscarried at home in my bathroom?’ I just physically said goodbye to my child, and I was nine weeks at the time. And she said you’re still pregnant, and she turned the Monitor and showed me, and there was a heartbeat.

John and I just looked at each other, and we just said, ‘What is going on?’ I said, “Mom I’m still pregnant.” And she’s like, “What?” and I said yes, I said look, and so at that point I knew that there was something else going on. God was just giving me that sense that something else was happening. So I went to a doctor…and she did an ultrasound on me, and she instantly said you were carrying twins. And I had no idea that I was carrying twins. But I did miscarry one at home and carried the second one.

“If I hadn’t listened to Mom, and Mom being so persistent with me to not let them take me, Reese would not be here,” Bridgette shared that they named the miscarried child Sofia.

“I am so thankful for Gods mercy and grace when I found out that I had miscarried,” Bridgette posted in a photo of Reese on her Instagram. “God knew I would need her (them). She is everything I wished I had when I was young.”

“Reese you are everything a mom could ever want from a daughter and your sister Sofia shines so brightly in you. I am blessed God chose me to be your mom and to Sofia, if only for a moment. The love I have for you both is unimaginable ️,” she said.

The ONE-ON-ONE WITH KIRK CAMERON series ended, but you can currently catch Kirk on his talk show, TAKEAWAYS WITH KIRK CAMERON.
