Nice hotel in a quiet part of Palma. Only adults is great if you don’t want to have noisy children close. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Due to Corona pandemic no buffet at breakfast. But what you get for breakfast for €10 is a lot and really good. The staff takes your order at the table and bring the breakfast tray to your table. The location is quite good, some 10-15 mns walk to Santa Catalina and 20-25 mns walk to Palma city centre and La Seu cathedral. Bus stop nearby for those who want that. Paseig Maritime and the harbour 5 mns walk.

Just back from a great four night stay at the Araxa. It is a pretty boutique hotel, with well tended grounds and spotlessly clean. We were worried as we had read reviews about rude staff but every member of staff we spoke to was welcoming, polite and courteous. We stayed in a basic double room (number 315) at the back of the hotel, on the top floor, at the end of the corridor and it was lovely and quiet. It was a good size room with everything we needed, tea making facilities, fridge, shower gel, hairdryer and fluffy towels. Reception staff will give you a key for the safe, free of charge.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Nice pool, not heated but that was not a problem for us. Reception will provide you with towels (deposit) so you don't have to take your own and the sun beds were the best we have ever been on at a hotel.
It's about a 30 minute walk from the city centre but there are buses (number 4 or 20) not too far away that go into town for €2. My only gripe would be that the bed and pillows were too hard for us but this is a personal preference and a small price to pay for such a pleasant stay.

I extended my stay at this hotel from 5 to 10 nights because I was really satisfied with the value that is provided here.
The hotel has an interesting character and is built in colonial style, with many pieces of art and antique furniture which I liked a lot. I also loved the trees and the fact that it's adults-only.
However, the waiters in the restaurant and in the pool area could be more attentive, pro-active and friendly.
Overall my stay at Araxa was a success.

Stayed for 3 nights. Pool was lovely and lobby tastefully decorated. Hotel is located quite a distance from beaches and the city. Unfortunately the staff are very rude. On our first night, the air conditioner leaked water all over the floor, which saturated our suitcase and created major puddles all over the floor. We nearly had a serious fall in the water before we realised it was there. When we rang reception they didn't seem very concerned. After 30 minutes we called again to ask what was happening. Maintenance came to our room with a bucket, a mop, and a towel, and said it was our fault because we had the air conditioner on the wrong setting. However, there were no instructions in the room on how to use the air conditioner. A towel was left under the air conditioner to soak up any more water. No apology for our wet luggage or concern for our safety was given. We asked for another room, however what were given was a smaller, older room. Very disappointed with our experience at this hotel.

We first discovered this hotel 2 years ago, and loved it, so it was an easy choice to come back here. It's very comfortable, relaxed and retains bundles of Mallorquin charm. In such a difficult year, the staff were working incredibly hard to adjust to all the appropriate conditions to ensure our, and their safety, yet with charm and grace. They really do work incredibly hard, but are very discreet. Only one downside; the restaurant is obviously open to locals and this is a lovely touch; you really get the feeling that the hotel is also the heart of its community. It also obviously helps their income, and this is understandably crucial to them right now. This was the first time, however, we had stayed over the weekend. On Sunday morning, during breakfast, locals began descending. They ordered a drink, then proceeded to 'reserve' loungers around the pool, while not using them. One lady even asked a staff member to reserve FOUR loungers, and then when her friends arrived, they spent all morning in the pool, had lunch, and spent the remainder of the afternoon in the lounge area. As there are not too many lounters, this meant that some hotel guests were unable to use the facilities; they had to sit on the ground or just abandoned their rightful time by the pool. Despite a very clear instruction that dogs were not allowed in the pool area, one of the local ladies brought her dog, and at one point in the afternoon, took him into the shower by the pool to cool off. I think it's lovely for locals to be welcome, but there can surely be some system to ensure that the local residents enjoy the hospitality of this lovely hotel, but the holidaying guests have priority for the facilites of the pool area. But, altogether, a lovely stay.

This is our third time at Araxa. it has everything we want. It’s quiet and has a lovely pool in a picturesque garden.
Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was spacious with good beds and a nice bathroom with walk in shower, The TV had a very good selection of U.K. channels. The room was spotlessly clean and the maid did a lovely job everyday.
The restaurant in the hotel is good too. Lots of non guests come in for meals so there is a good atmosphere.
The hotel seems to run seamlessly and everything is done properly. All areas are spotlessly clean and well maintained.
You can catch a bus to Palma central easily and taxis are only slightly more than the bus fare, you can walk into the centre but if it’s hot we prefer the bus.
We will definitely return, it feels like a home from home even though it is very Spanish.

Small hotel set in pretty gardens. Clean Victorian chic style reception and restaurant. Friendly hospitality staff, reception could do with being more friendly- maybe a smile!
Small but comfortable, clean bedroom - no balcony or terrace. UK tv channels, room cleaned daily.
Breakfast varied options. Lunch/snack menu very nice, large portion and reasonably priced.
Very disappointed that the pool was closed (opens may) despite being hot in April.
7min walk to bus stop (no4 for 2€) 5 min ride will take you into central palma.
23€ taxi from airport (April 23)

The Hotel Aratxa de Palma de Mallorca could be a good one. It has all the requisite requirements to be so. Nevertheless, there are a few details going to the detriment of its quality and comfort, thus making the hotel turn up into a horrible place to stay.
The worse feature of the hotel is the heating. It's by air conditioning instead of by central heating radiators, which is what one should expect to find at a hotel of the same or similar characteristics as those of the Hotel Araxa. I was lodged in that hotel in January 2023, on some days where the weather was very cold, so I needed the bedroom to be warm up. The air conditioning machines installed in the hotel bedrooms make a terrible noise, something unbelievably disturbing. Since I coulden't avoid having a worm atmosphere inside my room, I had no alternative but bear such a noise all the time I was awake inside my room. Notwithstanding that, as it's impossible to sleep in such a noisy atmosphere, I had to switch off the device before lying down on bed. Then, since the cold installed itself again in the room, I ran the risk of catching a cold whenever I got up during the night.
As far as the personnel is concerned, not everyone working at the hotel is kind ans polite. The gentleman working at the front desk with whom I did the check-in behaved in a rather rude and impolite way towards me. He wasn't at all helpful or friendly, but quite the opposite.
The other points regarding the hotel are not bad. It finds itself well situated, in a rather healthy area, though a bit far from the city centre, but that wouldn't counteract against any pretended excellencies, should these exist.
The hotel cleanliness is very good. The decoration inside the hotel is very nice, even in the bedroom. The furniture being in the bedroom allocated to me is nice and comfortable - especially the desk where I could do a lot of work - but the noise originating from the air conditioning device and the lack of comfort that results from it are not restrained by the good qualities of the room.
The breakfast is good and abundant. For that meal everything necessary is available from the buffet. All the victuals and drinks which can be had for that meal are of a good quality. The music at the breakfast room isn't too loud and therefore isn't disturbing.
Since I couldn't sleep comfortably, the same may happen to anyone else. My advise is therefore, not to book at that hotel. Otherwise, as it happened to me, the stay there may turn up to be a nightmare.

Fabulous stay .. character peaceful hotel , lots of old bits and pieces to look at , super big rooms and everywhere spotlessly clean !
Well equipped gym (should you want it ) .. reception staff lovely …nothing was too much trouble .. lots of little extras we hadn’t expected .. eg lovely big towels for pool, nice food , room service etc .
Bit out of town but easily walkable once you get your bearings and actually only a 7 € taxi ride if you didn’t want to walk
Would recommend for adults of all ages who are looking for somewhere to just relax .. hen party of young Italian women mixed with older adults during our stay … .. think I’d even feel very comfortable coming here on on my own !

Just come back from a fantastic holiday at this hotel with 4 other friends. The decor is amazing, very quirky.
The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much for them. The hotel and grounds are spotless. We were on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast is mainly Continental but there were fried, scrambled and boiled eggs plus small sausages.
My only couple of gripes where the pillows, which were very hard as was the bed and there was only one pillow. My other gripe was the pond outside which is populated by frogs which made a really loud noise all night. It’s about a ten minute walk down to the harbour and about €8 in a taxi to the Old Town.
