Upper Moreland High School Reviews
Rating 3.65 out of 5 188 reviews
Upper Moreland is in all honesty a bad high school. Administration is completely incompetent with them not being able to work with students effectively or provide anything to actually support anyone. Teachers are hit or miss. I’ve had great ones and terrible ones that can make or break my experience. Student culture was pretty bad as well. Bullying was common especially to those with disabilities or LGBTQ. A lot of people were very self centered and would be determined to make your time at school a nightmare. Food was okay, it wasn’t bad but not great. Overall I feel that my time at upper Moreland was a mixed bag. There are way better high schools out there and unless you have no choice I would not send your child to upper Moreland in any circumstance, especially if they have a disability or identity as lgbtq.
I have been at UpperMoreland since 1 year. There isn't much diversity but the teachers are fantastic and are very much involved. The school have many courses to choose from which enables students to explore options and find out which is the course that interests the student. There are many clubs after school to help students stay involved with activities. The school has many sports in the spring, fall and winter season. The food in the cafeteria isn't good, the food is also overpriced like 1 year ago a pizza was $1.5 but now its $2.45 which is overpriced for the food. Overall this school is a 4 out of 5.
Best Marching Band and Color Guard in the State. Most students are in the Music and Arts. Our Choir is one of the best in the area. Our Choir is 73 kids and increasing 10 a year. This school is usually 300 kids per grade. The musicals are phenomenal, but it’s commitment. It’s not that competitive however. You can take AP Classes once in 10th grade, not freshman year. Be on top of your required credits and plan ahead so you can take what you want. There are only 1 class period for AP classes and 2 classes for honors classes. Often you have to sacrifice since many classes run at the same time only once. It’s a very calm school no drama or fights. Admin is strict.
