Lady Emily Harriet Wellesley or Wellesley-Pole, was the second daughter of William Wellesley-Pole, 3rd Earl of Mornington, and his wife, Katherine Elizabeth Forbes, and was born 13 March 1792.
She married 6 August 1814 by special licence, at her father's house, 3 Savile Row, St James's, Westminster, Lord Fitzroy James Henry Somerset, eighth and youngest son of Henry Somerset, 5th Duke of Beaufort, and his wife, Elizabeth Boscawen. Her husband was at that time, Captain and Lieutenant-Colonel of the 1st Foot Guards, and Aide de Camp (ADC) and Military Secretary to the Duke of Wellington (her uncle).[1]
