- I know we all love the Jam and Lewis (Flyte Tyme) produced SOS band, but I pretty sure this is my favorite SOS album, at least for their pre- drum machine albums. Tight and funky. This pressing sounds great as well.
- Besides the already mentioned sound issues, on top of that these 2013 Tabu re-issues are all packed in hardcover media books. This is by far the worst packaging for CDs. The CDs are fit so tight in tiny slots that I dare anyone to get them out without scuffs and scratches. I never understood why this type of packaging even exists. Absolute rubbish.
- 2022 CD release of the album (UICY-80127) is, finally, from the masters. The 3 bonus tracks ('High Hopes', 'Groovin'' & 'Megamix') are from record.
- One of the most complete boogie LPs ever. so sooooo much heat. Can't get enough, high hopes, Your Love, Looking For You, You shake me up, Groovin.
- On this 2007 edition, the remastering quality is consistent, but mediocre. It's a typical '90s-'00s brickwall job: loud, with no dynamic range and the midrange all jacked up. The album tracks on the 2013 remaster are far superior in tonal balance and have double the dynamic range, like the best '80s CDs. However on the 2013 edition, the bonus tracks sound terrible. So buyer beware; neither of the CDs are perfect.
- Please, answer my question: why Tabu records put in the expanded reissues of The SOS Band, material rip from vinyl , not for the original Master Tapes?
All the bonus are in poor quality, so bad to listen. What a Shame a company like Tabu are doing this. Many collectors are cancelling their pre-orders after 3 releases reissues that are the same old stories: bonus tracks rips from vinyl in a bad bad quality.
It's unbelivable..
