ESPN's College GameDay Announces Week 1 Destination
We are getting closer and closer to the start of the college football season. One of the staples of the season is ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
It’s always exciting to see where the show decides to go week in and week out. Some fans are excited, and others are wondering why the show isn’t headed to their favorite team’s game. The wait is now over for Week 1, as the “College GameDay” social media account announced where the flagship show would be headed to start the season.
The show will be heading to College Station, Texas, as the Texas A&M Aggies will host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in one of the biggest nonconference matchups of the season.
This has a chance to be a top-25 matchup, and Aggie fans will get a chance to see their new head coach, Mike Elko, on the biggest stage. The game will take place at Kyle Field on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ABC.
Notre Dame leads the all-time series, 3-2, over the Aggies. Texas A&M won the most recent matchup against the Fighting Irish in 2001 at Kyle Field.
