So the grist mill right know isnt working. When we went the guy said they were going to have to fix something on the inside to make it work again. No big deal even with it not working this was a truly breathtaking park and we picked such a good day to go blue skies glistening water. Also the 3rd floor of the grist mill is know open I had read online it was closed. Only building they had open that we couldn't go in was the meeting hall looked like they were shooting some kind of video. People are in some of the buildings so beware the guy in the leather shop the first building with someone in it scared me. I think I had read some place online that some of the builds do have people but I had forgotten by that point. It had a lot of do at this park you have hiking trails the village and a memorial for Gus Grissom. We only did the last two things and it was a fair price for all of that plus a large parking lot.

We had an awesome time here at the Spring Mill State Park. The settlers villiage is so neat, and the water fall is beautiful . The grounds are very well kept up and the staff is friendly and informative. There are multiple benches in the shade, and the clean bathrooms are a plus.
The Gus Grissom memorial Museum was small but extremely entertaining and full awesome information and had plenty of neat things to look at

This park has a lovely Inn, camping, hiking caves, a museum and a pioneer village... this was an awesome place to visit and it only costs $9 to enter the park. If you stay at the Inn or camp they give you a pass to come and go after that so it's well worth the entry fee!!! We are going back in June to camp this time. We stayed at the Inn the last time and it was beautiful and the staff was very Friendly!!

Spring Mill is a really fantastic park. They have nice hikes that littles can do. They also have a nice inn though it’s closed right now for remodel. They also have a playground by the restrooms and picnic tables. Sometimes, they have actors who dress up and explain more features about the mill and the time period. I highly recommend it! You can stop at Jiffy Treet in Bedford for an ice cream treat or lunch.

Spring Mill State Park isn't the largest state park in Indiana and it isn't the most scenic or the most visited. But it contains some unique and very interesting features that set it apart from other state parks that attract more than 600,000 visitors annually. Located south of Bloomington, about three miles east of Mitchell on Indiana Highway 60, the 1,358-acre park contains an 1860s pioneer village featuring a historic watermill and 19 other structures, the Gus Grissom Memorial with the accompanying Gemini 3 space capsule, a nature center featuring live snakes, a bird-watching window, natural history displays and a children's area, two nature preserves, caves, sinkholes, a boat tour, hiking trails and 188 Class A campsites that include 30 amp electric service, a fire ring and a picnic table for each site. The park is located on the Mitchell Karst Plain, which allowed the park's caves and sinkholes to form in the limestone. The caves include Bronson Cave, Twin Caves, Shawnee Cave and Hamer Cave. A boat tour of Twin Caves travels about 500 feet into the cave. The Gus Grissom Memorial is dedicated to Grissom, a Mitchell native and one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts who died in the Apollo 1 accident. It includes the spacecraft from Grissom's Gemini 3 space flight, a short video about Grissom's life and such artifacts as a spacesuit, helmet and other personal effects. A special note: the park is one of 14 Indiana state parks that are in the path of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse, with Spring Mill State Park due to experience three minutes and 21 seconds of totality.

This is one of the best state parks we have visited and we have been to many. There was so much to do. We had limited time so picked out the Grissom museum and the pioneer village. Both excellent places to visit and so informative. The staff or volunteer at the mill was so informative and interesting to talk with. The garden was beautiful and the dragonflies was beautiful. Healthy garden, happy fairies.

The park was clean. Lots of families enjoying the day. Easy to navigate through.

I have been coming to Spring Mill since my first camping experience without a tent some 58 years ago or more (I was either 7 or 8 years old). I am now 66 years old and it has been 5 years since I was here last and I cannot wait to come over the 4th of July weekend. As I said though, the first time I was here the memories will live in my heart the rest of my life. At that time, the weaver's cabin was the only one that they had any demonstrations of the "old" ways. However, I'm not sure when they expanded on this feature or if it is an everyday occurrence, but they get some excellent demonstrations of crafts or demonstrations of how things were done back in the day pioneers truly lived in those cabins. If you haven't been to Spring Mill State Park. it is high time you made a concerted effort to get there. It warms my heart to see how those who came before us lived and it also warms my heart to see families enjoying the park and it's attractions, but even better than that it is watching the families truly having fun with each other.

We stayed here during a spring scout campout. While the weather at the time didn't cooperate, the park itself was beautiful - with rustic and group camping spots, several modern camping areas, a great environment throughout the park, and the frontier village. Overall, this is a great park to visit and camp at.

Spring Mill has been a place I have wanted to visit for some time and finally made the commitment when spent our family vacation traveling to different parks throughout the state. The park offers a lot of hiking trails which would take more than one day to complete. The village with the grist mill and other older structures were very interesting. The Nature Center had a lot of neat information Be sure to check out the Gus Grissm as well to increase you knowlledge of a Hooier astronaut.

We chose to camp over the 4th of July holiday. The park required three nights minimum to camp. Lots to do and see - Pioneer village, Gus Grissom memorial, a number of caves and trails.
