Randy was the only daughter of television personality and talk show host Jack Paar and his wife Miriam Wagner Paar. Randy was a successful New York attorney who specialized in representing businesses suing insurance companies to get more money for damages claims.[1]
Randy "earned degrees from Harvard and New York University Law School. During law school she worked at the United States attorney's office in Manhattan. In 1975-76, she clerked for the Manhattan federal judge Lloyd F. McMahon."[2]
Her father, Jack Paar, often referred to Randy during his television broadcasts, including the Tonight Show, and at times he showed his audience home movies that featured Randy. Randy was also involved with the historic first appearance of the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, when the Beatles dedicated the performance of one of their sons to her (along with Johnny Carson and the columnist Earl Wilson). She also scored three free tickets to the performance, which she shared with Julie and Tricia Nixon, the daughters of Richard M. Nixon.[3]
Randy was born 2 March 1949 in Hollywood. She was the daughter of Jack Paar and Miriam Wagner.[4]
She was married to Stephen Wells in 1977 in New York. They were the parents of one child.[5] Randy and Stephen were divorced early in 2012.
Randy died after an accidental fall in the subway on 2 June 2012 in New York City. She was 63 years of age at her death.[6]
