Voice acting
Ryan often worked for Disney, beginning with his earliest voice credits on “Welcome to Pooh Corner” and “Mickey’s Christmas Carol.” Among the voices he provided for “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” was Willie the Giant, which he’d later reprise for TV shows including “Disney’s House of Mouse,” “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” and “Mickey Mouse Funhouse.” In 1988’s “The Land Before Time,” Ryan voiced Petrie, the “flyer” (Pteranodon) who befriended the orphaned dinosaur Littlefoot. He provided the voices of Herald the Seahorse in “The Little Mermaid” and Digit in “An American Tail.” Ryan’s other credits include “Adventures of the Gummi Bears,” “The Smurfs,” “The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin,” “DuckTales,” and “Teen Wolf,” as well as the radio program “Adventures in Odyssey.” Ryan was also a singer who led Will Ryan and the Cactus Cowboys, and he wrote songs for the Jim Henson Company.
