Babe is the titular protagonist of the 1995 film of the same name, as well as its 1998 sequel, Babe: Pig in the City and the book that gave rise the former The Sheep-Pig. He is voiced respectively by the late Christine Cavanaugh, and by E.G. Daily.

Personality[]

Babe is a smart, cute and sweet-natured young piglet. He gets on quite well with most of the other livestock, including his best friend, Ferdinand.

He is also quite vulnerable, especially when he learns about his possible fate, and when he is initially accused by Farmer Hoggett of killing Maa.

Appearance[]

Babe is a Large White piglet. He has pink skin, a pink snout, and pink ears. He also has a very small tuft of brown hair growing at the top of his head.

Trivia[]

  • He was played by several female piglets in the movie, mostly to keep the film kid-friendly.
  • Strangley, he is a Large White pig by species, but these have been known to literally grow up fast, while Babe himself himself is never portrayed in an older form.
