I've gone to this school since kindergarden and had interesting experiences both good and bad. The good is the teachers who genuinely care about the students wellbeing, the offers the school attempts to get the kids engaged are okay, but diversity training is clearly needed for some of the staff at the middle and high school. When it comes to racism it is just swept under the rug for the districts own benefit and making very little if any changes in the environment for kids who are minorities. Have had some questionable teachers teach me at this school at well who were eventually fired. If you are a minority and are extroverted enough, you can seek out the diversity and escape some of the ignorance of the white population at this school.
There are some excellent teachers in the district. The administration and people that run the district are subpar. If you would like your child to be ready for college, then I would recommend changing districts for 7th grade through graduation. There’s too much drama and control issues involving the people that are supposed to be looking out for your kids best interest.
Personally, this school district is built for people who are in the middle of the GPA scale not for the people who are higher on the scale and would like to pursue further education after graduating high school. The staff always do their best to include every skill level on their assignments and tests. Our councilors are constantly trying to get more underclassmen to think about going to college and choosing the right university for them.
