Akira Takizawa wakes up naked outside the White House with no memories. He’s got a gun and a cell phone. He doesn’t remember the phone gives him access to ten billion yen and a woman who will grant any request. He doesn’t even remember he’s supposed to save Japan and will be murdered if he fails. Whatever he’s tangled up in, Takizawa’s in deep—and that’s not even scratching the surface.
This is a quality series from pretty much any angle. The art, animation, plot... they are all above average. The characters and the plot lines feel like a good novel. Mystery and adventure that doesn't feel stale, boring, or cliched. If you haven't watched this, I highly recommend it.

Gotta add the movies!
The story is incomplete without them!! :)) Hopefully they get added on soon!
This is one of the gentlest political thrillers I've ever seen.
edit: Movies are up now!!!

One of my favorite animes of all time
Many people have compared this series to Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) saying that it's a rip off, but in my opinion, Eden of the East is by FAR better. The two animes have the same general concept, but each of the stories has a completely different plot line. It's definitely a show worth checking out.

An instant classic, one of my favorites.
One part mystery
One part cerebral
One part cute
100% Amazing.
If you are looking for a show with a solid cast, compelling main characters and an overall cheery vibe while still creating drama and a feeling of consequences then give this show a shot.

Still an Absolute Favorite
This is a series that's worth the watch. It's always been on the top five list of my personal favorites and for a lot of good reasons. I think it's one of the rare anime out there that has something for just about every kind of viewer: mystery, action, romance, character development.
The animation quality is beautiful and the settings are rich and engaging along with the characters. The soundtrack is also fantastic, just as deep as I remember it being the first time I watched it. Great visuals and music are paired with a plot that pulls you in and keeps you guessing straight from episode one.
This is an amazing mystery and suspense anime with just the right amount of fluff for those interested in romance without overdoing it and making it seem forced (I was actually left yearning for more and I'm far from a romance-seeker in shows that I watch); characters are real, charismatic, and endearing; real-world issues are addressed in a way that leaves the viewer thinking long after the series and movies are completed about. This was one of the animes that got me into anime when it first came out and it's remained a favorite ever since.
It was profound, coming around at a point of my life where I think I needed the message it conveyed. It's a marvelous show and I'm so happy to see it here on Crunchyroll. I hope other viewers, whether new or returning, get the same feelings out of it that I did.
