American actor and singer Dan Finnerty was born in Rochester, New York State USA, on 22 January 1970, making his zodiac sign Aquarius. He’s had roles in nearly 40 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still best known for his playing of Wedding Singer in the 2009 comedy movie “The Hangover”, which Tod Phillips directed, and which starred Justin Bartha, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis. It follows three friends who attended a bachelor party in Los Angeles, and have now awoken without recollecting the events from the night before; the film won 13 of its 39 award nominations.
Education and early life
Dan was raised in Bath, New York State by his parents, about whom he rarely speaks in public as he respects their privacy; it’s still believed by most of Dan’s fans that his father was an architect, and his mother a doctor. Because Dan hasn’t mentioned having siblings, it’s believed that he has none.
He grew up being focused on his studies, and was perhaps mostly into music during his teenage years; he was in a school band, and dreamed of being a member of a worldwide popular music group.

Between 1998 and 2000, he portrayed Joe the Bartender in six episodes of the comedy “Rude Awakening”, created by Claudia Lonow, and which starred Sherilyn Fenn, Jonathan Penner and Lynn Redgrave – it follows the life of an unsuccessful alcoholic actress, and the series was nominated for three awards. In 2004, Dan voiced Singer in the episode “A Robot for All Seasons” of the animated action adventure “My Life as a Teenage Robot”, and the remainder of the 2000s heard him voice various characters in an episode or two of many series, such as the animated comedy drama “King of the Hill”, the animated action adventure “The Life and Times of Juniper Lee” and the short animated adventure “Random! Dan was focused on appearing in movies in the 2010s, and has thus had only two other TV series roles. He played Sad Sack in the 2014 pilot episode of the popular mystery crime drama “The Mysteries of Laura”, created by Jeff Rake, and which starred Debra Messing, Laz Alonso and Josh Lucas; it follows a homicide detective as she’s working in New York City, and the series won one of its four award nominations.
In 2016, Dan appeared in the episode “That Dare Not Speak” of the comedy “Graves”.

Dan’s debut film role was his playing of Purse Snatcher in the 1998 drama “Cosmo’s Tale”, and he gained recognition in 2001, when cast to play Best Man in the romantic comedy “The Wedding Planner”, which Adam Shankman directed, and which starred Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez. A couple of Dan’s following roles were in the 2002 animated family adventure “The Princess and the Pea” (voice role), the comedy “Old School” and the musical comedy “The Dan Show” both in 2003. Some of his most notable performances in the remainder of the decade were in the 2007 comedy “Vincey Masters: Born to be a Karate Meister”, the 2008 comedy “Extreme Movie”, and the 2009 romantic comedy “I Hate Valentine’s Day”.
In 2012, Dan portrayed Tour Manager Stacee in the musical comedy drama “Rock of Ages”, directed by Adam Shankman, and which starred Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta and Tom Cruise; it follows a city boy and a small-town girl who’ve just met on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, and the film won two of its 10 award nominations.

In December 1996, nearly two years prior to their wedding, Kathy gave birth to their daughter Samia, who’s today a successful singer-songwriter.
Dan hasn’t mentioned other women whom he’s dated; he’s married to Kathy Najimy as of November 2022, and they have a daughter together.
