Cecil County man charged with multiple assaults after firing at another resident

Police are investigating a shooting in Cecil County that occurred last weekend and say an arrest has been made.

On Saturday May 4, 2024, Deputies with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the unit block of Old Conowingo Road for a report of a shooting.

Patrol Deputies had learned that a homeowner discharged a firearm at another resident as the victim stood outside of his camper attempting to restore power to the camper.

The victim was not struck by gunfire and would eventually contact Cecil County Emergency Services.

Deputies arrived on scene and established a perimeter around the house.

Attempts were made to contact the individual inside, which were met with negative results.

A court approved search warrant was granted, and contact was made with the resident, who voluntarily exited the residence.

The suspect was taken into custody and identified as Shannon Patrick Malbone. Officials say Items of evidentiary value were seized from the residence.

Malbone was charged with the following crimes: first degree assault, reckless endangerment, second degree assault, and various other crimes.

Malbone was reviewed by a district court commissioner and held without bail.

This is an active investigation currently being conducted by investigators with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office.
