This is our first time here and they wouldn't give us a rain date or a refund after we spent $77 there. We pulled up and not only 5 minutes in they call a safety break. With in those 5 minutes we had went on the slide one time. During the safety break we went canoeing for 10 minutes then they call a "thunder break" this lasted about over an hour we waited, then the people next to us said they got rain date tickets. We went up to the welcome gate and asked theses 2 employees can we get rain date tickets or a refund since we were there for 15 minutes. They were being rude saying "oh we cant do that they came in a little later than u did and still had their clothes on." Then we asked can we speak to the manager. They called her and told us that she wasn't there and that we can wait it out more. We spoke with the security guard which told us to go to the corporate building and when we got there we dealt with two overnight camper employees that basically couldn't help us and gave us the manager Joe's Number. Joe wasn't answering her phone when we called multiple times. Then I went to the lifeguard stand told them the situation and asked can Joe call us. Apparently Joe was in the back helping a camper. The girls at the front gate lied to us.Then finally we get to speak with Joe after an hour trying to reach her, she was rude and didn't want to give us a refund nor rain check tickets. We explained to her that before we came we spoke with one of the employees on their face book page and they told us it was all go to go. We had also checked the weather too and it said it was going to rain later in the day not that exact moment. She continued being disrespectful and wouldn't help me as a customer. I basically wasted $77 on one time down the slide and 10 minute canoe coming to Clay's Park. When it could've been more beneficial to me since I'm a single mother withe 2 children. Another thing is nobody had masks on and the rules the say they have aren't in forced due to COVID- 19. This place is unsafe and the employees (including manager) was disrespectful. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!

Dear 572maggiec, Thank you for your feedback. When storms are in the area, we must do what we can to keep our patrons and staff safe. We close our beach and make everyone exit the water when lightning is seen or thunder is heard and keep the beach closed for 30 minutes after the last thunder is heard. Our policy is to reopen the beach even if it is raining just as long as the storm threat has passed. Clay's Park has a no rain check or refund policy. On the weekend we experienced a couple of hours of stormy weather, but the beach reopened at 3 pm and remained open until 7 pm. A few guests were offered passes to come back because the Welcome Center did not get the message soon enough that the beach had been closed and sold them passes. These folks could have made the decision not to pay and enter had they known. I am sorry if you feel that our staff was rude or disrespectful to you, but they were only trying to explain our policies to you. As far as masks, our staff in Concessions and Sunshine Shop wear masks as required, as are customers who enter these areas. Lifeguards are exempt from wearing masks when on duty, as are Security staff. Customers are not required to wear a mask while swimming or standing in line as long as six-foot social distancing is in place.

Being our first time to Clay's, the staff seemed next to careless. Checking in will take atleast 15 min and thats it its not a weekend. Less than helpful or courteous. I hate to say "don't worry we won't be back" but I truly feel the people at this establishment would be glad. This is more of a regulars/permanent site type of campground. They had half the inflatables that were pictured, I understand that COVID was going on but I checked the facebook page and website everyday up to the day we left with no notifications. The food is great and prices are awesome. Hope you don't need a golf cart, esp a 6 person one, and if so it better be reserved, rental pricing is pretty pricey . We were so excited to spend time with our kids here and sure we had fun. But we felt very unwelcome.

There was a chance of rain we still arrived early around 2:30 with concert to begin at 4:00pm. There is no cell service here at all. And limited restrooms near parking. With rain and lightning continue sitting in vehicle till 6pm with more delays. It was not raining for an hour and half which was wasted and then began again. Disappointing we end up just leaving with lack of information and continued lightning. At 7:49pm receive an email the 1st act will not go on with condensed schedule starting almost 4hours late. Wonā€™t be doing this ever again as there are ā€œno refundsā€ and there is no covered areas here. Complete waste of money and did not get to see any acts.

We're really sorry to hear about this! We apologize your concert experience wasn't up to standards. While we do host the Neon Nights event, we are not responsible for any of the planning, marketing, or messaging tied to it. We are simply the host venue. We are, however, responsible for the many attractions and activities available at our park, and we do hope you're willing to visit our park on a different weekend to enjoy all that we have to offer!

Every year we go to this we are amazed at how much smaller it has become. This year the entire "Tomorrow" field was closed down and many of the other areas were nearly empty compared to what they used to be. This used to be the gold standard of these types of festivals but now it needs to just go away. It's sad.

We just returned from a 4 day weekend. Everything about this place was wonderful. Facilities were clean, lifeguards were plentiful, locals were kind. All activities were included with camping costs, our boys loved the water park and paddle boarding. We had pizza from JohnOā€™s, ice cream and drinks from the beach. We played Family Bingo and attended the drive in movie. Social distancing was present between unrelated groups. Our boys rode bikes and we took the dog for many walks, I canā€™t say enough about the park upkeep. The spots were spacious with lush grass (although overdue for a quick mow). Hope to make a return trip next year!

If it was not for ADA discrimination I would be giving Clay's resort 5 stars. I know they are going to respond to this review and deflect blame to the Neon Nights promoter and my response to that is: do better. It is their property and there should be an agreement and plan in place.

Our family stayed here for 7 nights and part of the stay included the Neon Nights festival. If you are not familiar with the property, the camping location to the concert location is 3/4 mile one way. There is what I refer to as the 1st gate to separate regular campers from the event campers and then gate 2 which is entrance to the concert area.
We have a disabled person in our party. We had to take this person from our campground to the 1st gate on our golf cart which was not allowed in past the 1st gate. Then pay a "donation" for a golf cart taxi to ride the rest of the way to gate 2. Finally walking about 100 yards with a walker to be able to see the concert.
These "taxi's" were few and far between. When we were leaving the concert Saturday night, security would not let the taxi through the 1st gate to take our family member all the way back to our camper and then this disabled family member had to stand there and wait quite a while for us to walk all the way back to get the golf cart and pick her up. This caused tremendous stress and hardship on this family member which could have all been avoided with a proper ADA shuttle in place or by allowing the golf carts past the 1st gate and allowed to park where the event campers are.

We do apologize that your stay did not meet expectations. While we do not allow golf carts past a certain point during our music festivals, this is due to safety concerns as we have festival camping happening in the area as well as the majority of our attractions so these areas are all very busy during these weekends, and guest safety is our #1 priority. That being said, there is handicap parking available at the festival entrance for commuters. If you choose to visit us again for one of our country festivals we strongly recommend this option. The Taxi's are run by a local charity (3rd party) and all proceeds go to benefit that charity in our local community.

Everything is overpriced.. every little thing is a charge and the park is a joke.. it's not run by people who care about the park.. its ran by lawyers trying to squeeze every cent they can out of patrons.. we used to come all the time but this place isn't worth it anymore...

Family reunion ruined! We reserved sites for 10 travel trailers, 5 months in advance, not one was in same area. We explained that we booked way in advance, they assured us we would be together. We complained, they told us to leave if we did not like it and would not refund our deposits. The site was a death trap, 4 legs coming down the water sprayed electrical hook up. 7 wires per breaker lead. Water? Not enough pressure to brush your teeth, forget about doing dishes. Went swimming and cut my foot. The 16 year old life guard was told by her supervisor not to use too many butterfly wound closures because they were expensive. I got to cut one in half. She closed the wound full of sand. They did not even want to see the jagged concrete where I cut myself. Band aids are cheaper than concrete repair. The pool has a nice array of floating band aids and oil slicks, watch out for pink eye. Overall, nice concept but the owners are not running a resort. They are more interested in filling their pockets with your money. Stay away from Clay's park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The 30 amp did not work on our spot. We requested to move, told no other spots available. From Friday until Sunday night when the electrician finally came to our spot we spoke with 8 people on your staff, 2 managers and 2 maintenance people. We were told repeatedly that someone would come and fix the 30 amp fuse, no one came. We were told to wait at our site, we did and no one showed. We wasted three days waiting at our site for the 30 amp to be fixed. We only had 110 and could not run anything in the RV but the refrigerator. We also asked someone to clean our spot and no one came, it was unkept, dirty and not maintained. Also Saturday night security did nothing about a group of people yelling, screaming and drinking until 4a. No one answers the office phone and communication was lacking. We were very disappointed!

****Also note after the electrician came Sunday night, he advised that NO ONE told him to come, but everyone we spoke to stated that they did speak with him and he was useless! In addition the electrician stated that the communication was horrible at Clays Park. Even the seasonal people came over to our site because they heard of all the problems we were having and they stated that the park is going down hill and the staff was cut and no one cares.
The website photos are outdated, they do not depict the current condition of the campground. It is old, falling apart and the people are not very friendly. There are a lot of young teens running around, driving golf carts illegally and the police do nothing. We do not recommend this campground!

If your idea of fun is paying a high price for something sub-standard, this this is the place for you.

The park has alot of potential, but the management is more concerned about getting your money than making sure that you get what you are paying for.

The entire park is suffering from years of not having the proper upkeep.

The staff and management are apathetic to any concerns a camper may have, legitimate or not.
