Mary ("Marie") Alsop was born on 28 April 1839 in Elizabeth [then Elizabethtown], New Jersey. She was the daughter of Charles King and Henriette Liston Lowe. She married William Henry Waddington on 9 November 1874 in the eighth arrondissement of Paris.[1]
