For those unaware of Claudio Simonetti's recorded career, or for Argento film fans looking for the original film scores, be aware that this is a somewhat dodgy repackaging of the 1991 Claudio Simonetti album "Simonetti Horror Project." This album features Simonetti replaying, remixing, and updating versions of tracks from the films. If that's too vague, realize that the first track here is actually titled "Profondo Rosso (Rap Hip Hop)" on the Simonetti Horror Project. It's something like early 90s Eurodance (think Culture Beat's "Mr. Vain") complete with rapper, mixed with the original Goblin score, samples from the film, and a DJ scratching. This may sound awfully dated, but to be fair these versions were done in a style that was very popular at the time in Europe, and the Simonetti Horror Project was successful enough that Simonetti has revamped many more horror themes on other albums. But be sure to preview these tracks before buying, as the vague packaging would easily lead one to believe that these are the original tracks from the films.
