This movie has a powerful message for what I believe we are seeing now in our education system. Kids being basically bullied by the educators in schools across America. Free thinking, diversity of opinion, religion, and political views are now being punished.

This movie is fast, thoughtful and inspiring. It transcends its provincial setting and speaks to the freedom of the individual, the greatness possible to a person, and the type of adversity that can and should be overcome.
Christian Slater is excellent in the dual role of the masked broadcaster and shy loner. Samantha Mathis is brilliant as the only woman strong enough to challenge him, and change him.

I graduated in 1991 and this movie resonates so much with me. I grew up in a suburb much like that in Minnesota. So much bullshit.
Now being nearly 50, I weep that nothing has changed, and it objectively has gotten worse. This movie captured the zeitgeist of the time. Minus some tropes and technology that won’t resonate today, this movie is spot on to the problems today.

This film is absolutely fantastic! The acting is great and as always; Slater steals the show.
I used to find it odd that this movie disappeared from everywhere. I could not even find it on DVD (bought the Blu-ray on Amazon today. Now that I am older and following the world more, I totally get it. We need this NOW, we need people to speak up and fight back. I wish it had the guts to do it.

I know exactly why this has been deleted! I’m sorry if I sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist, but at this very moment, they are removing students who don’t want to conform to the new agenda! Don’t wear a mask correctly suspension! If students dare fight back, they’ll shut school down again! All in the name of health! They literally use the same verbiage as the counselor used in his assessment of the pregnant girl! Guess what other movie I can’t find? Nerds. You can find nerds 2, but not the original. Which I find strange and I don’t have a theory for that one, other than strains being named after the particular houses in nerds.

This movie spoke to an entire generation of us who for years felt lost and alone, stories like this helped a lot of us come out alive and relatively unscathed.

Honestly, best movie of the era, shaped my brain. Find it somewhere besides here. Prime, Netflix, Hulu, try to rent it, try to buy it. It’s a ghost. WTF.

This is the voice of the many of us. That were bullied or taken down. That were destroyed by the system but somehow survived.
This is a MUST see movie. I actually do not know how adults could capture the very essence of being adolescent and put it into film.
Thank you.
