As the parent of two current Middlesex students, I could not be more thrilled with the incredible education and transformative experience my daughters are having. From the moment we first stepped onto the beautiful campus, we knew Middlesex was something special. The academic rigor at Middlesex is unparalleled, with a curriculum that challenges students to think critically, write persuasively, and problem-solve creatively. The faculty are simply world-class. The individual attention and mentorship my daughters receive is invaluable in helping them reach their full potential. My daughters' are blossoming into intellectually curious, socially conscious, and emotionally mature individuals, poised to take on the challenges of the world. I am forever grateful to Middlesex School for providing such an exceptional educational experience and laying the foundation for my daughters' future success.
This was our extended family's first experience with boarding school and, despite Covid during my son's freshman/sophomore years, and changes in heads of school twice, it was an excellent experience, academically, athletically, and overall. My son learned so much and made a large, strong group of friends who are great kids. The teachers/coaches truly care and look out for the kids. The writing program is *excellent,* and the mindfulness program very useful.
Middlesex has been an incredible experience for my three children. The advising program is unmatched as is the writing program. The small size and boarding school atmosphere lends itself to a community where each student is known. It is in this environment that a student flourishes where the teachers are coaches, dorm parents, advisors, music teachers, club supervisors, and beyond. Students are multi-faceted, faculty are warm and the setting is pristine.
Coming to Middlesex helped define my interests from middle school and discover new ones. Without Middlesex, I would not be on the career path that I am now and love so much.
Our daughter just graduated in May and she truly found herself at Middlesex. The writing program coupled with the small class size allowed her to excel academically. Additionally, she participated in varsity sports and chorus where she was able to juggle arts and athletics. Her advisor will be a life long mentor. The college advising program was instrumental in her college search process and their advice was spot on. Middlesex is a very special place and this is a great fit for a student looking to dig in academically and become part of a community. Your student should plan on hours of homework and consistent office hours with teachers who are always willing to help. Saturday classes are still a demanding part of academic life here and are an expectation even on game days. We feel confident that our daughter will thrive in college as she is more than prepared to find continued success given the foundation that she developed at Middlesex!
Excellent curriculum comprised of academics, arts, athletics. Safe and healthy environment . Highly experienced faculty! Great student teacher ratio.

Right mixture of rigor and fun, very engaging faculty and student body. Top level academics, athletics, and arts.
Great experience despite Covid. School did a great job continuing with higher education practices while in person and over Zoom. Love the advisor program, chapel program, writing workshop and lots of class choices. Students are able to do it all, sports, academics, theatre and music. They are allowed to experience everything. Boarders and day students always intertwined!
Middlesex has proven to be academically rigorous, athletically competitive and socially inclusive. It has been the perfect fit for our highly-achieving and socially active daughter!
Middlesex has an outstanding faculty, dedicated to the intellectual and emotional development of the students, and is a warm and welcoming community.
Middlesex, despite facing the challenges of Covid, was quick to its feet, and maintained its rigorous curriculum with few troubles. Additionally, Middlesex has an astounding English program that ensures you will be ready for college. Lastly, Middlesex has some of the best college advisors who will make sure you can achieve the success you seek.
Truthfully, while I don't love Middlesex entirely, I don't hate it either. Middlesex School has a nice balance of academia and sports, and don't get me started on the school spirit! The pep rallies are unbelievably hype. However, if you're a fellow person of color, I would honestly advise you to look for another school. Middlesex isn't an unsafe place for people of color per se, but it has a hard time in continuing to support their students and faculty of color in times of need. Overall, Middlesex is generally a good boarding school, but the diversity is lacking and our school's culture could be a lot better about how they treat people of other cultures.
Good experience overall. The school sticks to traditions like random dance, casino night, and the square dance, which is fun but also there could be some changes.
My son recently graduated from MX and his experience was a game changer for him. It is academically intense but non competitive, with students studying together and helping each other succeed. It is one of the kindest places that fosters friendliness and acceptance. His friends are smart, caring, multi faceted and diverse in every sense. The teachers take the time to build relationships and get to know the kids, meeting weekly as advisors to learn about and support their students as they navigate academics, sports, friends and teen challenges. MX is a gem that you seek out for a different and special ISL experience. An incredible place filled with amazing people!
very good school with profissional staff and welcoming environment. they teach good stuff there and take care of all of the details.
Its a great school, however it’s had some serious racial issues recently. The school never had the best stereotype for diversity, and especially now, I’m surprised that not more people are reconsidering it because of all the polluted air around it. Also, the school relies so heavily on it’s name that the college process starts later than many other private schools in the area.
I feel so lucky to have spent my high school years at Middlesex. The teachers were some of the kindest and smartest people I have ever met and they helped create a productive and welcoming learning and living environment. I will always look back upon my years at Middlesex fondly.
Middlesex School is a wonderful community of teachers, students, and faculty. The academics are very rigorous, but when you walk around the beautiful campus, students are smiling, happy, and having fun. Middlesex is the full package.
Our family has had a wonderful experience at the school. Beautiful campus, great student body & facility. It is rigorous with not much support. Nice atmosphere on campus and proximity to Concord and Boston is wonderful.
