The second –and final — season of the UK action drama The Lazarus Project will land Stateside in June.
TNT announced Tuesday that the BAFTA-winning, recently cancelled thriller’s sophomore run will premiere Sunday, June 9 at 9/8c — roughly 11 months after its Season 1 finale aired in the U.S.
Series stars Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You), Anjli Mohindra (Bodyguard), Tom Burke (Strike), Caroline Quentin (Bridgerton), Rudi Dharmalingam (Wakefield) and Charly Clive (Pure) all return for Season 2, “as the world has locked into a deadly time loop and the Lazarus team must race against time to save humanity.
”In the new season, resolute Lazarus agent George (played by Essiedu) has been left in disgrace after betraying the organization in the name of love,” the logline continues. “He is determined to redeem himself and win back the trust of his friends, colleagues, and the love of his life. But when he discovers that the cause he is fighting for is more sinister than it appears, George suspects that the only person he can really trust is himself.”
The Lazarus Project was TNT’s lone, remaining scripted series, following the decision to forgo airing Snowpiercer’s fourth and final season (which will now air on AMC in early 2025). Season 1 of The Lazarus Project aired between June and August of 2023.

I’m surprised they are even airing it in the US after since the show was cancelled last month.
2nd and final season worth pointing out, Sky confirmed it isn’t returning for a 3rd season.
Season 1 was amazing. Sucks it is getting cancelled.
Season 1 was fantastic–really smart and well done. I’m so relieved that TNT will finally give us Season 2. Why would someone think that because there won’t be any more, TNT shouldn’t air an entire season?? Just because something’s been cancelled doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. I honestly don’t care if shows get neat, tied-up endings–great TV is great TV.
It isn’t a matter of “shouldn’t.” It is just that TNT has given up on scripted programming and has even refused to air Snowpiercer season 4.
It wasn’t cancelled by TNT. Sky cancelled the series after season 2 aired in the UK. Sky produced the series and TNT simply bought rights to rebroadcast it in the US.
Watched season 2 when it aired in the UK. really disappointed to hear it’s been canceled. lots of story potential unrealized after that ending but most plots left resolved even if not the main character outcomes. They could easily wrap it up in a TV movie but they won’t.
Damn I missed that it had been canceled. Love this show and really disappointed we won’t be getting more.
I’ve already seen season 2, and I feel it is much better than the first.
Season 2 was definitely better, but it started getting repetitious and confusing after a certain point. I think the ending worked as both a season and series ender.
