I was relunctant to visit an unfinished house started in the Antebellum South - specifically a house built by a family that profited from the exploitation of 800 slaves. 800 souls! As painful as this is, it is a part of history. I wish the guided tour would highlight this stark fact as well. I can however appreciate the architecture, design, and craftsmanship of the house.

We drove the entire Trace from Nashville to Natchez over a 3-day period in April 2024. We had driven over 15 years ago so we knew what to expect. Not too much traffic and peaceful lovely drive. We experienced little traffic except in a few areas where it was mostly local folks. We did experience lots of bikers and a few motorbike riders. Road was in good condition. Be sure to stop and pick up a map to fully enjoy the ride. We had downloaded them to our phone but know you will not have phone service for a good many sections of the Trace. I found it difficult to follow along on my phone. The visitor center volunteer Meriwether Lewis site was most helpful and we got a map there. Two complaints - first bathrooms are few and far between which is fine BUT not if you plan for stopping and then the bathrooms are closed. This happened to us at Rocky Springs. We are campers so knew to try the restrooms in the campground - they were open, but I will have to say not in the best of condition. My other complaint is that Mount Locust Area was completely closed with no explanation at all - just a locked gate and closed sign. As I said we traveled this road in the past and this area was not open then either - really bad luck I guess. I had been anticipating this site for 3 days. In our 3 days on the Trace we saw two rangers - one in the visitor center in Tupelo and the other the volunteer at Meriwether Lewis. Did not see park vehicles on the road either. Highlights for us were the Sunken Trace - don't miss the short hike down to this section of the Trace; Emerald Mound; and the variety of wildflowers. We spent one night at a B&B in French Camp. That was a real treat. Not at park facility but located right off the Trace. Try this drive for an enjoyable get a way!

We love this museum and site where Elvis was born! You can do 1 attraction for $12, two for $20, or 3 attractions for $25. We just went through the house and museum. It's small but very well done. The house is very neat to see where he was actually born. Only 400 sq ft. They have a large gift shop also. Only a few miles off I22 and easy to find. Elvis ROCKS!

The hotel room was clean and comfortable but no coffee pot and when we reached out to the front desk for it and water refill, it was promised but never received .
The casino was good for a bit we managed to play without losing too much for two days,as usual we didn’t hit the big one🥴
There were not many good food options but the casino next door had more.
For a (free) trip it was fun and enjoyable.
Anticipation for the Danville Hotel is high as it is in driving distance.

This is an amazing renovation of the U.S.S. Cairo ironclad battleship. Visitors can walk inside the vessel and observe it from many angles. Fascinating exhibit!! The hours of the indoor museum are limited to certain days so keep that in mind as you plan your visit.

I did a solo trip to have a break from work & caregiving. The king room with a view was awesome so clean obviously recently renovated. The time not in the casino was really enjoyed just relaxing in the room. The takeout options are great, the Snack place for quick bites but my favorite was Stalla for bruschetta & caprese salad, I liked it so much I went twice! There are several great restaurants to choose from and I didn’t hear any complaints about any of them.
I really enjoyed the casino, the bar in the middle has great staff and some decent VP, I managed to play quite a lot. I tried several video slot games, hit & miss but I felt like I got a lot of play, which is a win to me!
Planning another trip for my birthday, to me this is the only place to stay & play in Biloxi.

A beautiful center in the middle of town. I rented a bike from them and they were friendly and helpful. You can ride down the main path through town and over the bridge to Ocean Springs.

We did the Dolphin Meet and Greet. Family of 4. The 9yr and 11yr did the experience and we adults were observers. Definitely worth the cost. Only 4 kids with the trainer. They got to touch, feed, do a trick, and get a free dolphin kiss picture. We did that and then enjoyed the back to back dolphin & sea lion show. It's a small facility so I'm not sure I'd go without paying the extra for an experience.

Absolutely, my favorite of the mansions. It is breath taking. A true picture of the wealthy south families. I loved every bit of it.

The hotel room was great except for the wardrobe it was falling in bits doors wouldn't close and the hinges were falling off fortunately there’s 4 on each side, so one missing isn't the end of the world and there is no tea in the room for tea you need to contact room service. I would love to know what the music is at the back of the bed though. A/C worked fine shower a bit fiddly but always hot, though on one occasion i think the hot water was coming from the plant room it just took a few minutes to get there.
We stayed in on end of the curved bit on the fifth floor it was very quite has a view of the sea and the pool area. Where we could watch small fishing boats going out and pelicans feeding.
We dont gamble so cannot tell you much about the casino, other than it was always busy even during the day.
We did see a show which was great its only a small theatre so i cant see many big names there. That said it does happen, occasionally they like to go back to connecting with your audience
Really enjoyed our stay its Hard Rock so most people know what the ambiance is like.
