Replacement season coming early this year. Curious if they priotize an artist that is similar to Snoh in genre/overlapping interest vs a similar size name that could bring in ticket sales from a different audience
me too! I was pointing out in 2022 they replaced Anitta with Rina Sawayama which seems to be the latter and then 2023 Oroville Peck was replaced by Conan Gray which seems to be the former option you mentioned!
Was also thinking of those two! I honestly hadn't realized conan gray was a close replacement for Orville by fan base - hadn't given him as much research as other artists earlier in the cycle.
I expect the latter. If the lineup isn't selling out it could make more financial sense to both be open to a larger group of potential replacements and to draw that new audience. Would be nice to show loyalty to ticket holders, but festivals do always note "lineup subject to change"

Dang that's rough. Not at all equivalent, but there are a handful of other r&b and soul artists lower on the lineup that you may dig if you did buy a wristband already. Ogi, Lady Wray, Allen Stone, etc..
