A must-see film for movie lovers, this Martin Scorsese masterpiece is as hard-hitting as it is compelling, with Robert De Niro at his best.

Desmond Ryan Philadelphia Inquirer It works its strange alchemy with riveting force… With this extraordinary film, Scorsese confirms his standing among our finest young directors. It is, among other things, a testament to the versatility that last produced Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. Oct 6, 2023 Full Review John Huddy Miami Herald The bonds are close and tight between Scorsese's first film and his most recent effort. And yet Taxi Driver stands alone. It is original, harrowing, instant American mythology. Oct 6, 2023 Full Review Kevin Kelly Boston Globe Taxi Driver is so volatile it nearly explodes from the screen. Under Martin Scorsese's brilliant direction, it works a dramatic tension that is inescapable, carefully, systematically straitjacketing its audience in the problems of its central character. Oct 6, 2023 Full Review Janet Maslin Boston Phoenix Experiencing the film on an insulated, intellectual level is a virtual impossibility, thanks to a central performance so individualized and affecting that Travis is never in danger of becoming a statistic or a symbol. Oct 6, 2023 Full Review Cynthia Genser Berkeley Barb Scorsese has spit all his disgust right in our faces. Well, you don't have to like it. But when the doors of the [theater] opened to let us out, there was New York and I knew, I knew it was no longer possible to avoid the horror. Oct 6, 2023 Full Review Stanley Eichelbaum San Francisco Examiner The director has created a highly effective profile of an incipient killer and De Niro's portrayal of the obsessively mad Travis is terrifically convincing. Akash A I must be damn near crazy (most definitely am) because this is one of the worst films I have ever seen. There was little to no plot. Girl leaves guy, guy goes crazy, murders people. Like hello? This film might be the spark of school shootings and mass murders everywhere. I understand that it appeals to the darkness in us - but what when you don't have that darkness? Is the movie appealing at all. Again, kind of like 'Fight Club', we see the story of a mentally ill man. Is it that appealing to watch? I don't see any appeal really. I was loving it when he was talking sweet to the lead actress and taking her on a date, I thought the plot might grow into something interesting wit h that angle. It wasn't entertaining to see him just enrage over the girl disappearing on him, isn't that a bit too close to real life? Just kidding. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/06/24 Full Review Ariel V One of my favorite films from the 70's Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/02/24 Full Review Alex P What an amazing film, so powerful and compelling. One of my favourite films of all time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/01/24 Full Review Daniel Q Absolute masterpiece, the gateway to great cinema. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Huub B Good movie. Was quite immersive even though almost everything happened in the last 30 minutes of the movie. Good vibe to the movie and the acting was great. I do think the story was a bit weird and not coherent with eachother but it did not botter me that much. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Deepanshi It is the movie where we kept waiting if Robert De Niro's character does anything else apart from being a creepy driver. And finally towards the end of 20 minutes of the movie he does something and because of which he was declared hero suddenly is shocking and utter nonsense. Most annoying and time wasting movie :| How is this over rated over hyped movie I still do not know. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
