The Super 8 ski tour develops in an 8-shape itinerary across the most scenic saddles of the Dolomites such as Forcella Averau, Croda Negra and Lagazuoi. The views over Tofane, Pelmo, Marmolada and Civetta massifs are among the most spectacular mountainscapes in the world.

There are many access points to start the Super 8 ski tour. From Cortina, the most convenient one is  the 5 Torri chairlift at Bai de Dones (toll-free parking) along SR 48 road towards Passo Falzarego, 13 km from the center of town.

The main stops of the tour are: Rifugio Scoiattoli, Rifugio Averau, Mt. Croda Negra, Col Gallina, Passo Falzarego, Mt. Lagazuoi, the Armentarola ski run with its famous ice waterfalls, Rifugio Scotoni, Capanna Alpina,  the horse drawn sledges and the taxi ride to return to Passo Falzarego. From here, final descent to Bai de Dones.

The itinerary features some of the most renowned mountain inns of the Dolomites for their cuisine and quality of service.

Transport service The Lagazuoi-5 Torri ski area is part of the    Dolomiti Superski carousel and is connected to Cortina and to the Pocol -Tofana ski area by a bus service, free of charge for Dolomiti Superski pass holders. Local bus service Dolomitibus also connects Passo Falzarego to the rest of the ski area bus timetables. Cortina Express offers private taxi shuttles and buses (upon reservation) from  Val Badia (Capanna Alpina or Armentarola Hotel) to Passo Falzarego.   Important:  local bus services to and from Passo Falzarego, taxi shuttles and horse drawn tows are not included in the ski pass price.

The Sellaronda circuit develops around the Sella Massifs and its 4 Dolomite passes. Starting from Cortina the passes become 5, including Passo Falzarego. It is probably the most amazing ski tour in the world and can be easily done in one day.

Facile: Itinerario facile che non richiede tecnica particolare.

Medio: Pendii e valloni ampi, fino a 25 gradi.

Difficile: Pendii fino a 35 gradi; richiede buona tecnica su ogni tipo di neve.

Intenso: Pendii fino a 45 gradi senza forte esposizione; tra 30 e 40 gradi con esposizione forte o passaggi stretti; richiede una tecnica ottima.

Estremo: Pendii oltre i 45 gradi senza forte esposizione; a partire da 50 gradi con esposizione forte.

Grading system

Easy: easy itinerary that does not require any technical skill.

Medium: Wide slopes and deep valleys, steepness up to 25 degrees.

Difficult: Steepness up to 35 degrees, good technical skills on every type of snow conditions are required.

Severe: Steepness up to 45 degrees with little exposure; between 30 and 40 degrees with high exposure or narrow stretches. Excellent technique is required.

Extreme: Steepness over 45 degrees with little exposure and from 50 degrees with high exposure.
