Skepta releases new EP ‘48 Hours’ in collaboration with Ryder

Skepta has released a new EP with newcomer producer Ryder, '48 hours'.

The five-track EP features vocals from Skepta protégé Dré Six, with Ryder sharing that the opportunity to produce it came after he shared on socials an ambient remix ‘#skeptacore pt.3’ using Skepta’s vocals from ‘Text Me Back’.

Since the success of the remix, Skepta asked the Hull-based 19-year-old to produce an EP for him and Dré Six.

The EP coined its name after it was created in the studio by the three within 48 hours and includes new bars from the Grime legend Skepta.

The lead single, ‘All Alone’ comes with a Skepta-directed music video out later today with the track including vocals and guitar from Dré Six.

Speaking on the new EP Ryder shares: "My focus is on the emotion, how it makes the listener feel".

Skepta is currently Mixmag’s cover star alongside Jammer and recently released the single ‘Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute To Amy)’ which marks the first time an Amy Winehouse sample has been cleared to use.

The tech-house track comes with Skepta’s DJ career and was released on his label Más Tiempo which he runs with with Lord of the Mics founder and BBK member Jammer.
