Out of everything Guy could have been asked to do, he just got the most plum assignment in his entire career.
This spring, Guy Gardner is finally coming back into focus in Green Lantern. Starting with Green Lantern #10, the loudmouthed Emerald Knight will star in a 3-part backup series from Jeremy Adams and Justice League International's Kevin Maguire in "Guy's Bogus Lobo Adventure"

HAL JORDAN RETURNS TO OA! With Hal's ring newly recharged, he leaves Earth for Oa to uncover the mystery surrounding the Central Power Batteries, while Carol makes a choice that will change her destiny forever! Plus: Kevin Maguire joins Green Lantern architect Jeremy Adams to tell the tale of Guy Gardner, the United Planets, Lobo and… Wrestling? It's "Guy's Bogus Lobo Adventure part 1 of 3!" |
The backups will see Green Lantern Guy Gardner on a new assignment from the United Planets to hunt down the most feared bounty hunter in the DC Universe: the Main Man himself, Lobo. Guy's adventure to bring down Lobo isn't going to be easy and will see the two somehow get involved in outer space wrestling.
Green Lantern Guy Gardner is Out to Apprehend Lobo
The Guardians of the Universe have disappeared and in their place, the United Planets have assumed control of the Green Lantern Corps. The new bosses quickly made enemies out of the Corps' Earth-based Lanterns by placing their home world under quarantine due to recent calamities. The United Planets' leaders faced pushback from the Earth Lanterns, Guy Gardner in particular, who criticized the decision. However, he was reassigned to bring in the rouge Czarnian Lobo, a mission Guy took with a smile on his face. Unfortunately, the rest of the Corps weren't as happy with their new duties.
This Guy Gardner-focused backup will also serve as a tie-in to the upcoming "House of Brainiac" storyline set to begin in April. DC Comics fans who have been keeping up with Superman already know that Brainiac has been using a bottled Czarnian city to raise an army in preparation for his upcoming invasion of Earth. Plus fans know that Lobo is going to be heavily involved with Superman. It's unclear how Green Lantern's story will connect to the Super-Family's struggles in the crossover, but one thing is for certain: Guy Gardner isn't letting Lobo go without a fight.
Green Lantern is Taking Down Lobo at Any Cost
Guy Gardner infamously fought Lobo once upon a time in Justice League International, a fight that never had a winner. Guy's been wanting a piece of Lobo for years and defeating him and bringing him into the United Planet's custody is something he'd be more than happy to do. Who knows how things will actually shake out as "House of Brainiac" really heats up in the spring, but no matter what, Green Lantern is going to do whatever it takes to take Lobo down.
Green Lantern #10 is available on April 9th from DC Comics.
