Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet Airlines (WS) is the country's second largest airline. Along with its regional subsidiary WestJet Encore, the airline flies to about 90 destinations. These include destinations in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe. The airline also has codeshare arrangements with more than a dozen other carriers. WestJet operates airplanes with all Economy Class seating. Passengers can opt for certain fares (known as Plus) that offer preferred seating in the front of the plane with extra legroom. The airline has hubs at Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

I received an email a day prior to my departure date that my first flight was being delayed, and the system had automatically cancelled and rescheduled my second flight, which I was not satisfied with. They rescheduled me to fly two more flights to a different province with only 20 mins layover. I went into the app hoping to change my flight but was given with no option, and I was unable to call a representative agent due to being oversea. I expressed my concern at the check in counter and was told that they were not able to reschedule my flight as there is no office located in Tokyo (NRT), and they ascertained me that an agent will assist me with flight rescheduling when I land in Calgary (YYC). When I landed in Calgary, I was told that they were unable to reschedule my flight as my baggage had already been checked in. Had I known of this policy, I would have reinforced my concern to the staff at the counter to connect me to the office in YYC prior to checking my baggage. The staff at the check in counter failed to disclose this policy. I arrived at my destination 6 hours later than the scheduled arrival time, and the company rejected my claim for compensation...…

The seats are so small and uncomfortable that I'd seriously consider driving the 4800km next time. You can barely move your legs or adjust your position and you're a physical wreck on arrival after a WestJet flight. If you're over 5 feet tall fly Air Canada. They have stuffed so many seats in these 737s that it is literally a human sardine can. Not for the faint of heart or the claustrophobic.…

Trip was terrible, my luggage was lost. Afetr six days I have no updates on my luggage. My medicine and all personal and necessary stuff are there. I am so pissed off with west jet airline. I do not recommend it to anyone. In another trip from Calgary to Saskatoon my luggage was broken and flight delayed two days. I do not suggest anyone to book flight with Westjet…

Had problems with the Westjet booking as my wifes name was wrong and the purchased baggage did not show up on the email so do you think I could find the correct email to solve the problems. It took 6 weeks to get a reply. Then post flight when picking up my luggage my bag was split right through the the handle section so had to push the bag using the top strap. Westjet replied to my complaint and asked for 10 different things eg bag receipt, another photo showing their baggage tag ect ect so they make it so difficult you give up. Vote with your feet and choose an airline that cares and avoid Westjet where possible.…

Zero customer service. Our flight was delayed by 10 hours and then cancelled. The staff at the airport fobbed us off and said we would get an email with hotel and meal vouchers. We did not. We waited for more than three hours on hold to speak with a customer service agent who told us to keep receipts and we would be reimbursed. This was also untrue. We received $60 reimbursement for $700 expenditure (we waited three days for the cancelled flight to be rebooked). Our complaints directly to the airline were met with a generic response. It was obvious no one even read the complaint. Deeply unsatisfied. Thank goodness for travel insurance. Be prepared for agents making false promises to get you to go away. There is no intention to follow through, and no accountability for not honouring promises.…
