Is the outdoor dog friendly?
A:
NO this place IS NOT dog friendly unless it's a service dog! Booked this place 3 days ago and mentioned we wanted to bring a dog. They should mention this before the day of the reservation (3 hours before)

Great environment with amazing food! Definitely would recommend any of the mojitos - they're delicious and strong. We only got tapas to share but everything was great. Will be back to try a pitcher of mojitos!

I came to Walnut Creek today looking for a restaurant to eat at for Cinco De Mayo! Most of the Mexican restaurants had a 2 hour wait which was expected. Luckily, Havana was able to squeeze us in even without a reservation. We got seated and ordered the Cinco de Mayo special which was a taco plate! It was absolutely delicious. The beef was super soft and juicy. Our waiter was hilarious! We had a good talk with him and he was very attentive. We also grabbed some mojitos (yum!) and their churro dessert. My boyfriend and I have been coming to Havana for years and we've never had a bad experience. Can't wait to come back soon

I tried Havana's new brunch today for the first time! I participated in the bottomless mojitos. Our waitress told us that our options for today would be traditional, mango habanero, and watermelon cucumber. All 3 were delicious, but the watermelon cucumber was my favorite! I also ordered the plantain French toast and it was amazing!!! Super unique compared to a traditional French toast. The service was amazing as well. Just another reason Havana is one of my favorite spots in Walnut Creek!9/25/2020Previous reviewHavana - The absolute best spot in the east bay for ... MOJITOS! I love Havana and have been coming here for the past few years, but my parents have been huge fans of this restaurant for much longer. Not only are their mojitos the absolute best, but their food is super delicious as well. My friends and I love coming here for half off mojito pitchers on Mondays! There is no better way to start off my week. I also love their built in patio for COVID, it is very spacious with lots of tables. While they were temporarily closed, we continued to order from their catering kitchen in martinez - their family deals are delicious and really affordable! We ordered the steak deal twice, plus ordered mojitos a few times  I highly recommend this location for any meal or drink.

Everything the bf and I ordered was delicious! Service was awesome.
Started off with the Blood orange mojito (refreshing and sweet) and the Havana tropics cocktail (sweet and fruity) with the plantain chips and avocado smash. Plantains were fried just right and was able to hold up to the avocado smash.
The tapas we ordered to share were the mojo chicken wings and the ropa vieja empanadas. Chicken was tender with crispy skin and the glaze was a god blend of sweet citrus and salty. The empanadas had a good fluffy crust and the braised meat had a very nice smoky flavor. The dipping sauce it comes with gives the empanadas some heat.
We shared the skirt steak and it was also really good. It came with a mashed potato type side dish that was sweet and the corn sauté that (I didn't really care for).
They have outdoor seating decorated with string lights which would make a great place for date night or a group get together. Not sure if that's just due to covid restrictions. They're open for indoor dining as well and they spaced the patrons out to ensure 6 feet of space was maintained at all times.
Will definitely come back to try the other dishes! - Jesus A.Miami, FL641475/24/2022
Definitely not anything resembling Cuba or Cuban cuisine. The ropa vieja is not ropa vieja, its carne guisada. You forgot the toasted cuban bread with butter, and no real cuban coffee? Do a bit more research. I am a cuban recently moved here from Miami, Florida.

Service was acceptable, food was average. I was hoping that the paella was better tasting. Menu can use some improvement. Drinks were a bit pricey

This was us trying something new and we were not disappointed. Delicious food, our server Derek could not have been more timely or friendly. Must try. Parking can be a pain, but what good place isn't anymore?

Tried for the first time with my husband! Loved it! We got the grilled shrimp and the wings to start and shared the paella! Flavors were awesome, music was so good, and service was so welcoming and friendly!
Thank you! We will come back! - 29340329604/10/2021
Haven't been here in such a long time and my girlfriends wanted a fun night out. Havana came to mind. They are well known for their lively atmosphere (can get pretty loud sometimes) and creative mojito menu. The outdoor dining area was lovely. Since we had an early evening reservation, we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. Due to COVID, they have a 90-minute time limit which is totally understandable. Our server was super friendly and hospitable and let us know when our time was coming to a close. And like most restaurants these days, you scan the QR Code on your phone to view a digital menu.
We decided on tapas instead of dinner entrees so we could try different items. I chose the Mojo Chicken Wings and Grilled Shrimp. The chicken wings were a hit. They were crunchy and sticky (just the way I like 'em!) with a zesty citrus soy glaze. And the Grilled Shrimp comes with sofrito rice and a yummy drizzle of cilantro-lime sauce over top. That sauce was vibrant and tangy and totally brightened up the dish. I wish there was more rice, but it's tapas style after all. The shrimp were a little over done for me but still very tasty with the charred bits that added a nice smoky depth of flavor. One of my girlfriends absolutely loved her Day Boat Scallops and would order it again. Another girlfriend chose the Twice Fried Plantains that came with pineapple salsa. That salsa was really good! The plantains were great while warm but once they got cold, they became a little chalky and hard. So you have to eat them quickly!
What's Havana without a pitcher of mojitos? There were so many flavors to choose from. We each wanted something different but felt pitchers were the way to go instead of individual pours. Our server recommended the Guava Jalapeño and that was super delicious, fruity and refreshing! You might think jalapeño would be strange but it just adds a little kick to balance out the mint. Once we were done with this pitcher (and it went fast!), we wanted to order another because, well, why not? A different server stopped by to say hello (OMG he chatted with us for a while and totally made us laugh!) and insisted we try the Pomegranate-Ginger. I mean, he ABSOLUTELY swore by it. Although it was good, it couldn't compete with the Guava Jalapeño. Maybe I just like my drinks a little more exotic. I'm still thinking of the Guava Jalapeño. So much yum in that drink!
On my next visit I'll be sure to order the Day Boat Scallops and those Mojo Chicken Wings again! The staff was so cheerful and inviting and the tapas were delish. The music was playing, the sun was shining, lots of people and car watching (haha) too! I would say it was a pretty wonderful dining experience with good friends. - Guest U.San Francisco, CA834010865/8/2021
Dropped by over the weekend and dined in doors. Â The service was good and fast. Â We didn't sit outside as it was hot. Â
The food came out at a reasonable amount of time.  I ordered from the Ropa Vieja and hash from the brunch menu and the Paella.  A side of Yucca fries  and scallops too.  The dishes were all good.  The only bad part was the sausage in the Paella. It was overcooked thus dry.  Overall I would go back.
