East Lansing High School Reviews
Rating 3.89 out of 5 235 reviews
East Lansing High School offers an overall positive experience. The best part is the diverse community, fostering a rich cultural exchange. The dedicated teachers stand out, passionate about their subjects and students' success. The range of extracurriculars is commendable, promoting holistic development. However, the overall design of the facility is a bit chaotic, hindering optimal learning environments. Bullying and school security, while currently being addressed by administration and the superintendent, remain a concern. More robust intervention strategies are likely to be required. As with all schools, more mental health resources and behavioral health support is essential. Streamlining communication between administration, faculty, and students would enhance overall cohesion. Overall, East Lansing High School is doing a good job of trying to make everyone happy in a city with a lot of opinions.
My overall experience at East Lansing high school has had its ups and downs. I had a lovely experience when it came to academics, extra curricular activities and learning. However when It came to relationships and bullying the school district did little to nothing to help and cater to the unique needs children may have. I remember when I was young being bullied to the point where I was crying and didn't want to go to school, my mom fought and fought with the school and they did nothing to try and change the experience I was having, the conflict was only solved over time because of my mother and the other students mother. Mind you, this all took place in fourth grade. As I entered the junior high/middle school I was eager to finally have a fresh start and make new friends, but I found that I was receiving the same treatment from people and I felt as though no one had any interest in being my friend. Overall, academically I do feel that I learned a lot though, that I will take with me.
ELHS is a great school to attend. There are many support services offered to students, such as mentoring, tutoring etc.
