Spain are out of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Morocco shocked Luis Enrique's side on Tuesday (6 December) in a dramatic penalty shootout. Spanish-born Achraf Hakimi sealed the 3-0 win on penalties, after Spain missed all three of its penatlies, following a 0-0 over 120 intense minutes.

Hard to believe that the 2010 World Cup winners were sent packing as they had made the perfect start to their Qatar 2022 campaign with a comprehensive 7-0 victory over Costa Rica.

Ferran Torres scored twice as Luis Enrique's men laid down a marker in their bid to regain the biggest prize in football which they won for the first time in 2010.

Alvaro Morata came off the bench to give Los Rojos the lead against Germany on Sunday (27 November), but substitute Niclas Füllkrug equalised seven minutes from time to secure a 1-1 draw.

With four points from their first two games, Spain still advanced to the round of 16 despite a 2-1 loss to Japan on Thursday (1 December).

But it all ended in misery on Tuesday.

Spain had juist one shot on target from their 1,019 passes.
