When Sofie von Liegnitz was born in 1525, in Legnica, Lower Silesia, Poland, her father, Herzog Friedrich II von Liegnitz, Brieg u. Wohlau, was 45 and her mother, Princess Sophie Hohenzollern of Ansbach and Bayreuth, was 40. She married Markgraf und Kurfürst Johann Georg von Brandenburg a.d.H. Hohenzollern on 15 February 1545, in Legnica, Lower Silesia, Poland. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She died on 6 February 1546, at the age of 21, and was buried in Mitte, Berlin, Germany.
