The Pink Floyd Vintage PA System will be on show next month. If you are heading to Nick Mason’s Middlewick house open garden charity event on 8/9th June then look out for the big red Avis van with a selection of Pink Floyd’s old PA equipment in! It will be in the Classic Vehicle outer field next to Middlewick House by invitation of Nick Mason. The equipment is collected and shared by CH Vintage Audio ran by Chris Hewitt. Chris has re-created many a Pink Floyd set up over the years for us geeks to enjoy and has books that cover the topic too. Its great that Nick Mason’s house and gardens will be its next location. Syd Barrett Film “Have You Got It Yet: The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd” will be physically released on 19th July 2024. It will also be available to stream digitally. Having watched the documentary film in the cinema, I am very excited to get a copy of this unmissable release. The documentary story is told in the most respectful way about Syd rather than the usual drug and sensationalist slant. Syd had undiagnosed mental conditions that are spoken about much more in 2024 than back in the 1960s. David Gilmour’s USA tour dates have been announced with two dates in Los Angeles and two dates in New York. These will be the only dates he plays in the USA. David will perform his new album, Luck and Strange, first at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 29th and 30th. He will then head over to New York playing two nights at Madison Square Garden on 4th and 5th November. As with the London and Italy tour dates, fans will be able to take part in pre sales events to increase the chance of you getting tickets. David Gilmour Italy Tour 2024 has been announced. In a similar fashion to the London shows, David will be playing a string of 6 concerts in one venue. David will be performing at the huge outdoor chariot venue Circo Massimo (Circus Maximus in English) in Rome, Italy. He will be performing on 27, 28, 29 September 2024 followed by 1, 2, 3 October 2024. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 17th May with presales for fans who purchased the album from David Gilmour’s Italian web store. General ticket sales link to follow. LONDON 3rd MAY 2024 David Gilmour today announced his first live shows in London for eight years in support of his new album ‘Luck and Strange’, to be released on 6th September on Sony Music. The live shows – the first to be announced around the new album – will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th & 15th of October. Nick Mason, Pink Floyd’s drummer, is to release his solo albums as individual LPs & CDs for the first time since their original releases. The three albums will be released on 7th June 2024. The albums are Fictitious Sports, Profiles, and the film soundtrack, White of the Eye with Rick Fenn. The boxset Unattended Luggage was released fairly recently in 2018; this included all three albums. But you can now get them individually, just in case you have worn one LP out in particular.
