Biographical Text

Alexander Burgh Lish, born 30 April 1814, son of John Lish and Mary (nee Burgh). Baptised firstly on 15 January 1815 at Calcutta and later, as a Baptist, on 26 April 1829, aged 14. Became a missionary for the Baptist Missionary Society in 1831. Reverend A.B. Lish of Cherrapongee was married at Calcutta on 12 January 1836 to Eliza Sophia Marston. Lish died on 14 October 1852 in Agra.
