Every good thing must come to an end. And no bad deed will go unpunished.

When the fierce war between two major criminal organizations spirals out of control, innocent civilians are caught in the crossfire as crime families begin to settle their scores. Desperate to put an end to the violence, the police prove helpless against the brutality of the criminal underbelly.

Luckily for them, they are not alone.

Guy, Daniel, and Omer are thick as thieves, the result of years of running covert military operations together – at least until a disastrous mission sees them thrust back into civilian life. They each go their separate ways until tragedy and loyalty reunite them for one final operation – and one final kill.

Gritty and fast-paced,
The Final Kill weaves a vivid and gripping story of loyalty, justice, and revenge – perfect for fans of L.T. Ryan and David Archer.

Review

"The Final Kill, Doron Meiri's second novel, is a classic police thriller that toes the rules of the genre: good guys vs bad guys, thoughtful yet determined main characters with a gritty sense of humor, decent pacing, simple language, bursting action sequences and sprinkled with sexual encounters." - YNET

"Meiri does an excellent job creating a narrative, filling it to the brim with content, and making it accessible to the general public while keeping pace with the story. Meiri's book takes hold and does not let go - from beginning to end; he keeps readers on their toes with curiosity. He does not give in to the temptation of exposing too much of the narrative too early. He manages to hide important details all over the story without making it too obvious. A great, rhythmic, intriguing novel." -

For twelve years, Doron Meiri covered police and legal affairs in the printed press as a senior journalist.

Meiri reported on crime syndicates, murders, robberies, acts of terrorism, and white-collar crimes. While covering the National Prison Service, he interviewed dozens of criminals, murderers, and even terrorists. He covered everything from the National Headquarters of the Police, the Ministry of Internal Security, the Internal Police Investigations Department, the Border Patrol, and the National Counter Terror Unit. After twelve years on the beat, Meiri served as the news desk editor.

Meiri’s books are based on his experience and intimate knowledge of the criminal justice system, and on his military service as an operator in an intelligence unit

Before his career in journalism, Meiri worked in agriculture on a kibbutz and was a teacher, a seaman in the merchant navy, a truck driver, and more.

An Israeli Organized crime families starts to kill each other and civilians are caught in the crossfire. Revenge is the order of the day for both the crime families and the police.

Diving into The Final Kill, I found myself enveloped in a world where the echoes of past battles shape the contours of a present-day crusade for justice. The characters, Guy, Daniel, and Omer, are the heartbeat of this narrative. Their transition from the shadows of military operations to the forefront of a personal war against crime is painted with deft strokes. The author crafts their journey with an authenticity that resonates, making their mission feel not just compelling, but deeply personal. It's this aspect that pulled me in—the raw, unfiltered essence of camaraderie that doesn't just survive but thrives in adversity. The pace is relentless, a characteristic I usually admire in thrillers. Yet, in the whirlwind of action, I found myself yearning for moments of quiet reflection, pauses that would allow the gravity of the trio's decisions to truly sink in. The narrative's brisk tempo, while exhilarating, occasionally brushed past opportunities to delve deeper into the psychological toll of their vigilante quest.
A point of contemplation for me was the moral complexity surrounding vigilantism. The narrative doesn't hold back in portraying the murky waters of taking justice into one's own hands. This exploration is thought-provoking, challenging readers to ponder the line between retribution and recklessness. However, I felt a deeper dive into the emotional and ethical ramifications on the protagonists would have enriched the narrative, offering a more nuanced perspective on their actions.

I couldn't put down "The Final Kill" from the moment I picked it up. The story grips you from the start, plunging you into a world of intense conflict and moral ambiguity. The characters, Guy, Daniel, and Omer, resonate with depth and authenticity, drawing you into their harrowing journey of redemption and retribution. The narrative crackles with tension and urgency, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. For fans of gritty, pulse-pounding thrillers, "The Final Kill" is an absolute must-read

not worth the money

If you like a good story full of action, you will like this book.
I was always intrigued about underground organizations and even though they are criminal, they have some exotic appeal to me. Reading about their hierarchy and how they function is always interesting, and their wars are so different from the "open" ones.
But there are more interesting things in this book. The other is a story about loyalty between main characters, a characteristic I like to read about because it is so rare in real life.
All in all, if you want to have a nice holidays spent with a good book, give this one a try.

In "The Final Kill," Doron Meiri plunges readers into the heart of a relentless and gripping vigilante thriller that delves into the brutal aftermath of a raging war between criminal factions. The narrative unfolds against a backdrop where the battleground extends to the streets, ensnaring innocent civilians in the crossfire and rendering the police helpless against the ruthless underworld. In this chaos, a glimmer of hope arises with the characters of Guy, Daniel, and Omer—individuals who share a history of covert military operations. Although circumstances have disbanded them, a convergence driven by tragedy and unyielding loyalty reunites them for a final, high-stakes mission. Meiri's storytelling is marked by its gritty intensity, propelling readers through a fast-paced exploration of justice, revenge, and an indomitable bond of loyalty. "The Final Kill" stands as a promise of an unputdownable experience, skillfully blending vivid narration with the stark realities of a world caught in the tumultuous clash between crime and justice. Very highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The book starts with many unfamiliar named characters. But then takes grip and then it becomes a very interesting and fast paced story.
