Mahony’s Po-Boys & Seafood is a tribute to the old neighborhood po-boy shops of New Orleans. Mahony’s combine fresh local ingredients and Chef Ben’s family recipes to create the obvious classics and new, more untraditional versions of New Orleans’ favorite sandwich.

We may be known for our award-winning po-boys, but we also offer an overstuffed menu of comfort foods, delicious salads, perfectly fried or grilled seafood, hot plates, and more. Located on historic Magazine Street, we know how to appreciate food and life, from brunch to happy hour, and lunch to dinner. We hope to see you wandering into our shop that we call home, so we can pour you a cold drink and serve you up a sandwich or plate you are sure to remember.

Great local place for Po' Boys and seafood. One of us raved about his oyster Po' Boy. My Redfish Atchafalaya, redfish with crawfish etouffee, rice, and collards was excellent! Fried Green Tomatoes with remoulade sauce was a wonderful starter. Service from our waitperson, Erica, was tops! Prices are very reasonable for such excellent fare. Bravo!

I are there last summer and it was even better this time. We ate there Friday and Saturday. Had the shrimp and grits Friday and the red fish with crawfish etoufee. Yummy! I took some back home had it made it thru TSA but it was touch and go. 😀

From the moment we walked up, we knew it was going to be an outstanding meal! We weren’t even to the front steps before we were greeted with the biggest smile and welcoming waiter, Tim. He led us to the perfect table on the outside patio and promptly gave us a run down of the food and drink we must try! Started off with cracklings and queso, perfectly seasoned pork rinds with a spicy, creamy queso dip, and debris fries…watch out Canada, your poutine has serious competition with this pile of fries, tender roast beef, and savory beef gravy! We the. Dove into a sampling of the peace maker, shrimp remi, and BBQ shrimp po’ boys. We ordered a 10” of each and easily split amongst the 4 of us so everyone could get a taste. We all enjoyed every one of them, but debated the favorite. The major point of agreement, however, was how fresh the shrimp, oysters, and all the ingredients were. We finished with a sweet bite, and shared the bread pudding. Mmm, mmm a strong finish for such a delicious evening.

We made a reservation for dinner and when we arrived they said they were doing takeout orders only. We’ve enjoyed the restaurant in the past but this was unfortunate. We dined elsewhere. It would be best for the restaurant to be aware of its bookings and communicate should they not be able to honor it.

Quaint dinning room, good service, great food. I order the undressed sandwich of fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, and bacon. Delicious! Husband had the catfish po boy, he said it was wonderful. His side of grits was well seasoned, think and yummy. Our friend ordered the Paradise po boy, it’s fried oysters and shrimp with candied bacon. She ate every last bite and said it’s was amazing. Disappointed in the onion rings, they were super soggy and under salted. I know if they had been crispy I could have put some salt on them and they would have been amazing. Overall this is an easy going, low key, delicious place to have a fantastic Po Boy.

From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. I loved the neighborhood bar -restaurant atmosphere, brought me back to my childhood in New Orleans. The Paradise Park was cold from the tap and the grilled shrimp remi poboy; delicious. My wife had the shrimp amd grits, told me was excellent. We will be back.

We went with a group from out of town they were super nice. The place wasn't super busy the cocktails were good and the food was solid. They have a couple of award winning po boys but our favorite was the slow roasted pork. Also the fried pickles were delicous and crisp. The etoufee was also sooo good.

The one waitress was overworked, although friendly, for a busy Saturday night. The wine I ordered never came, the crawfish etouffe on fries was cold. As if it had been sitting for quite awile. For those reasons alone I wouldn't come back. However, if you're going for po-boys this place was great. My daughter ordered a shrimp and fried green tomato po-boy and it was excellent. A bit pricey for slow service and cold food.

This was our first visit. We had been at the Mardi Gras parades and stopped by afterward for some food about an hour before closing time. There was only one other group in there, and they were exceptionally loud. They were some early 20-something ladies who'd been drinking, so I don't know if other groups would be as deafening. It was hard to hear us talking to each other at our table, but after they left, we could have normal adult conversation. Great staff, very friendly and helpful, and incredible po boys. We've tried several in the area, but this place was in our top 3. Will return!

Very nice ambiance and vibe but the food was honestly average. The gumbo was barely warm and lacked the spice and consistency of real nawlins gumbo. The Po boys were mixed. One favorable review of the shrimp and one average of the supposed award winning braised beef. I think one can find better.

This place shouldn’t exist. It’s the poor boy joint for the next generation. Better quality food than the most famous places in town. Their debris dries are a wet kiss on the mouth and the short rib Po boy is a warm embrace on a cold summers night. Don’t even get me started on their inimitable onion rings. There are onion rings at Mahony’s and there’s the crap that everyone else serves.
