Denied parking permit because of audit???
Hey everyone. I'm just coming on here for advice on how to obtain a disability parking permit with POTS while living in very very very hot Florida.
I've had symptoms for a long time but after bad flare ups resulting in hospitalization I finally went to the cardiologist and he officially diagnosed me with POTS.
Now the heat in Florida has been ramping up something bad and getting from point A to B outside has started becoming super difficult to the point where I try not to leave my house at all during the day which isnt practical for a lot of reasons. Surprisingly I do super well in cold weather months but when its hot my heart rate sky rockets and my anxiety jumps along with it, i feel faint, and you guys know the drill-- its a bad time. So i looked into disability parking permit for pots and saw it has helped a lot of people and so I went to my PCP with the paperwork and she said:
"I know this would help with your symptoms especially with the heat but I'm afraid if you don't fit the criteria 100% then when we get audited we might get dinged"
I just said "okay..." and walked away but now I'm sitting in my car depressed because that just felt weird. She knows it would help my quality of life but she might get audited so no?
Anyway is this the normal experience or should I just try asking my cardiologist?
