Traditional, hard rocking, bluesy tunes, with killer solos from BG.

Look at this great album jacket!

Despite being a compilation (which I tend to shy away from) this is my favorite Buddy Guy record. Some really intense guitar work and beautiful horn arrangements make me keep on coming back to this.

A very fierce, almost angry sound to the guitar makes this one very sharp blues-lp. Even though the recordings stem from different sessions, I like it as a whole and it is probably my favorite Buddy Guy-album, if push comes to shove.

Side one consists of three songs all recorded December 7, 1961 and written by Buddy Guy. Side two (seven songs) is a mix of singles and unreleased cuts recorded from 1960-64.
Favorite tracks: (side one) The upbeat opener "Watch Yourself"
(side two) the soulful "Ten Years Ago" featuring Junior Wells on harmonica

Not a bad guitarist, but he wails a little too much.
