- Patricia COakville, Canada39 contributionsSuch a beautiful city to visit. friendly people and lots to see in walking distance. Perfect place to spend a couple of daysWritten March 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wireless_in_CAUnited States7,429 contributionsWe first parked at the top of the falls and headed towards the suspension bridge. We followed the path behind the visitor center since the main path along the cliff was closed just before the falls. A helpful sign was posted in front of the visitor center warning of the closure.
The fall that April morning was roaring and quite impressive. From the top you could see the speed of the water flow and the roar as it went over. Next to the zip line was a lookout that was not very busy but was the best location for a frontal view. At the bottom of the falls we could not get too close as the viewing area was closed. However, from the path we could still feel the force and feel the resulting spray as the falls hit the bottom. Others continued up the stairs towards the top of the falls.
The park waived the parking fee (maybe for winter) and we only had to show our ticket’s QR code to get into each parking lot.Written April 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are several information panels about the history related to its past and preservation. And it's overlooked by stunning Chateau Frontenac. We walked a couple times through it, enjoying the views, talking to local lady who advised what to see/visit in the city. If you are tired there are plenty benches to sit and have a rest. There is also small cafe/ice cream shop. At the end of it you can find tobogan for winter adrenalin seekers. It's must visit place when in the city.Written May 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TERRAvelistaLondon, UK18,016 contributionsTo reach the lower town you either take the funicular from the Dufferin terrace for 5 CAD one way/per person (the entrance is located inside the glass square houses right near the statue - don't forget to press on the door to access this area) with the capacity of the funicular of max 6-8 people and going every minute, reaching the old town in 1 minute.
The other option is to walk all the way here, if you have the energy, and immerse yourself in more touristic attractions with lots of over prices cake shops/ice cream shops/nougaterie or restaurants and fashion shops far detached from the French or European fashion though.
Cobbled streets located near the water, the ferry not far from here, a gorgeous piazza with people watching as in the style you find in most of Med countries, if you are fortunate to be here on a sunny day.Written October 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We have been to many cathedrals but the ceiling/vault (?_) had a beautiful purplish tint and imparted it such an amazing pious quality that made you truly appreciate that you were in a sacred space. Really impressed my wife and I. Amazing place to visit.Written April 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fran RooneyAsbury Park, NJ16 contributionsTwo amazing tours and guides. Separate tours of both the governor general residence and the citadel grounds and buildings. Both very informative and entertaining. Bravo Demitri and Jeremey!Written May 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PeteFredericksburg, VA1,206 contributionsPlace Royal is a very quaint little town square with a very noticeable bust of King Louis XIV. It’s easy to feel transported back in time and imagine the bustling market business going on here very close to the Old Port. Today, it’s very quiet, clean, and not crowded.Written May 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- George J1 contributionI love Quebec City! Short flight to experience French cuisine, cobble stone stone streets in one of the oldest cities in North America. And, these French speakers are actually Friendly! Let me not forget to mention the great exchange rate for our dollar.Written November 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PeteFredericksburg, VA1,206 contributionsThe defensive capabilities look very significant to me. Most of the structure is not only on top of a hill but buried deep underground. I would think this would give it protection from aerial attacks. The perimeter is also surrounded by a significant moat probably 30 meters wide by 30 meters deep. I would think that this would give it protection from ground assault.
It’s also the place where the battle for everything was lost by the French. The French failed to adequately defend the top of the cliff. Later, on the plains, the French were too hasty to attack and met double musket ball fire from the British. The French lost Canada and everything between the Mississippi and AppalachianWritten May 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bethpindcWashington DC, DC769 contributionsI'm so glad we took the ferry to Lévis. The view of Québec City from the ferry is stunning. And, there's a microbrewery just next to the ferry terminal in Lévis where we had great poutine and a beer.Written May 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoanneLake Mary, FL2,045 contributionsThis was such a historical place and definitely worth a visit. It was part of a tour, so not sure the cost normally. We were met by a guide in period costume who explained a lot of the history that it had been a prison. We got to see the converted cells - and it was definitely not somewhere you wanted to be. A nice old library - quaint. The stairs are narrow and uneven - so might be a problem for those with mobility issues.Written May 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
